I need to TiVo that - I'll never remember. A few years ago I went to Westminster. I had the cheap tickets - you go during the day to see the individual breed competitions and you can also go back stage and walk around and see all of the dogs. It was lots of fun!

It was tons of fun! And we actually got to sit down on the floor to watch, only a few feet away from the rings. Most of the handlers were really nice to everyone and would let you play with the dogs if they were out in the back stage area.

I'm partial to the toys - my mom has a 10 year old Maltese. We are dying to get a dog, but DS is allergic to some dog saliva and breaks out with huge welts. It's really random too, and I never know which dog he'll react to - it's not a certain breed or type of hair. I guess we'd have to do a lick test!

well, my dog's breed took second in the herding group (after winning it last year). I really think they rotate winners through the breeds in each class from year to year, don't you??

Hey my DD is like that w/ cats....some cats she can hold and kiss and it's no big deal ....then she can walk into a room w/ another cat and be wheezing and runny eyed.... no real rhyme or reason to it

We used to show dogs quite a bit but with the kids not so much in recent years. I will be watching tonight though!

I've been to Westminster a couple of times, taking the train from Boston to NYC. It was SO crowded and hot, but fun to see all the dogs. I like the Working group too; had Alaskan Malamutes way back when, a West Highland White Terrier, and a Wheaten Terrier. Always enjoy Westminster; guess I'll have to tape The Mentalist :)

What a great topic! I have been absorbed in the show. However, my new breed, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (I am getting one delivered to me in a few weeks) didn't go down as I expected. The breeder I work with has one of the 5 cavs that was an invited dog. When I just looked at the breed results, her dog was ABSENT! I am terrified that something awful happened. She left for NY on Friday. On a happier note, my other breed, the Brittany, received an Award of Merit. The dog has the same sire as my brittany....who is definately not a show dog. Also, one of the JR Handlers in the finals tonight is showing a dog who comes from the same breeder as my brittany.

My prediction for BEST of Show is the Toy Group. The BOS judge is a Toy fan.

One of my students is in the show (or with her family?) showing their dogs! I don't watch though, I pretty much don't watch TV but yeah... exciting!

Hey I have a question...........

How come dental insurance sucks so much?

I can have $1,000,000 in medical for a $100 co-pay and then max out the dental after like $256.45 in cost???????????

It's making me !

I don't know either but Dental does suck. Thank goodness I've never had any major teeth problems. I had braces as a teen but I've never had so much as a cavity!
