Joan...I hear ya...I dread this holiday as my Rigby (yellow lab) hates fireworks! Austin is not bothered, but Rigby just paces and pants...but then again Austin has to howl when the abulance sirens come close and it does not bother Rigby at all...go figure!

Just remembered Voo's DD comes home today!!! Enjoy having your baby back home Voo!!

My dog Keiko is pretty deaf. I don't think she will even notice the fireworks tonight. A few of my neighbors were setting off firecrackers late last night and Keiko didn't even stir from her bed.

Rory hates fireworks too but couldn't care less about sirens. There's something called an Anxiety Wrap which helps a lot. Basically, if you wrap your dog in a tee shirt or blankets - and can keep him there! - that will help calm him down. Like swaddling clothes.

Happy 4th of July Ladies!

Katie, doesn't care for fireworks very much, but turns into a gigantic lap dog (80lb golden)... as long as she can sit in my lap she will tolerate them. A fire engine siren on the other hand... she has no tolerance for.

Did everyone's animals survive the fireworks? We just got home from our short trip and I'm avoiding unpacking. We just made a quick little drive to a state park a few hrs away. They have a lovely lodge, good food, and a lake to relax beside. Other than a few mosquito bites, it was a relaxing jaunt.

This afternoon I am going to try and figure out how to get my photos up so I can share the Botkier Trigger. LindaP suggested photobucket.com, and her photos look good. I will try.

I use Photobucket as well...very easy!

My Rigby survived, although we see like 3 large city displays from our backyard...very convienient, but he did not understand why we were out there where the banging was going on...

Just got back from a 26 mile bike ride...that was fun...the weather was cool, overcast...perfect!

Now off for a Costco run...

I heart Costco...yet another place I have to stay away from! You can't come out of there for less than $100! Hubby loves it too, 'cuz he just cruises around eating samples. I buy giant desserts we'll never be able to finish. It's ridiculous. We both love the fruit smoothie and frozen yogurt. What a bargain!

Well, this was a cheap Costco run...I am trying a new steak marinade, so I needed sirloin...plus some things the coupons ran out on today, so I think it was $57, which for there is not bad at all!

I just have to say that I am not looking forward to starting this week for some reason. It was such a nice long weekend! Great weather, little getaway, time with the hubby, ordered a new Tano...lol...don't want Monday to come!

As I predicted, Keiko didn't even hear the fireworks. The annoying neighbors were setting off firecrackers way past midnight.

Just "sealed" my grout today. The guy had told me to pour it it a paint pan and roll it on with a roller brush. Lazy me poured it on the ground and pushed it around with my sponge mop-seemed to work just as good.

I know LUV, this weekend just flew on by. Back to work tomorrow!

I'm already at the office this morning hahah!

My DD is home We spent the night @ Hub's mom's house Saturday night and she and I curled up together and slept ...I woke up twice with her gorgeous face right next to mine.... I'd smooched her forehead both times hahaha (As fast as the 13 years since her birth have passed I'm sure the next 5 will fly. WTF am I gonna do when this kid graduates and goes away to college??????)

And on the fireworks subject..... Duke detests them.... last night he was in the back yard doing doggie things when the kids behind us decided to let off some black cats and I thought that animal was going to come thru a window..... he needed quick rescuing Once he's back in the house he's better about it....but he walks around with his "worried face" until the fireworks stop.

I'm already in the office too (in by 7:45 since their was no traffic)... just had a bowl of Kashi cereal with banana slices and am starting to think about what I need to do today. It's funny, I was only off 3 days, but I more or less avoided my computer this weekend and typing this morning is a little labored. Almost like when I was in school and had to re-train my hands to write after a long break.

I am really thinking I wish I had ordered a Tano this weekend. I was so close to pushing the button, but 'good' Kittybag kicked in and reminded me I don't really need a new bag, and that I am supposed to be saving for a house. *sigh*

Voo, you talking about how much you adore your DD is so completly sweet!! You must have been so happy to see her again on Saturday and I bet she missed you a ton too! As a younger person (27) all I am told by my family is how much work kids are... but you really highlight the amazing parts of being a parent! Made me say "awww" outloud!

I am so with you! Love how you got right down to it and put the goop right on the floor to seal your grout! Have you spent your first night in your house yet? It it was me, I would have 'camped' out with a sleeping bag or something.

HAHA I'm completely in touch w/ this....

And Kitty....kids are a lot of work but it's the best job in the world. It's not easy. The pay sucks. But the rewards are like nothing else. I was your age when DD was born... and it's strange cos the 13 years of her life feel like they've FLOWN by but my 27th birthday feels like an eon ago hahahah But she is truly the sunlight in my universe!
