aklein, hope Piper is okay.

All, I behaved myself last night, and recommended TPF to a few of my IRL purse friends. I know they'd love it. Now just looking forward to the weekend. Just hubby and me...yay. We've had enough family lately. Love them all, but if you knew them, you'd understand why we're so excited NOT to be seeing them.

The only thing that stinks is the summer passes SO quickly after the 4th!

Watching Ellen and enjoying a big cup of coffee. Taylor Swift is on. She is adorable.

I'm off today but Hub is not .... right now I'm planning to do a lot of nothing today. I have a brisket in my giant roasting slow cooker for tomorrow. And I have laundry to do but I'm going to blow that off until later this afternoon.

Aww thanks for all your happy thoughts, ladies. Piper is doing fine. She has had some (how can I say it delicately?) GI problems. Then, she threw up about 5 times in an hour yesterday and seemed to be in pain. I knew she was sick because she didn't wake me up to feed her as soon as the sun was up, nor did she fight me when I put her in the carrier to go to the vet.
So I took her into the vet. The vet thought that it was a severe gastroenteritis from a hairball. So Miss Piper ended up getting an anti-nausea injection, plus some wonderful medications to take home -- an anti-diarrheal, an anti-nausea drug, and some Laxatone.
She really seems to be doing a lot better, but because of the trip to the vet, I feel like I should keep an eye on her. And I am about $120 poorer.

^^Well I'm so relieved! It doesn't sound like anything super serious! Hug and kiss Miss Piper for me! (It's never a good sign if a cat just lets you put it in a crate hahaha I'm sure it worried you!)

So glad that Piper is doing OK! Al you are such a good fur mommy! My dog requires about $130/month in arthritis and antiseizure medication but it is all worth it!

My 2nd kitty had tummy trouble not long after we got her and it took several rips to the vet and food changes before it was cured...but it was worth it...glad Piper is going to be ok!!

What we do for our furry family members!

I am really lucky it turned out to be something minor. I think my imagination got the best of me. All those years of working as a vet tech can be a bad thing. I was unnecessarily worried that she ate something like a string.
I've been very lucky with my kitties and they have been pretty healthy over the years. I would do anything for those little guys. They've been with me through some rough times, so I do what I can for them.

Good news to hear about Piper!!

Hope those of you who are off today are enjoying yourselves!!

I am just finishing a cleaning spree..... tip to top through out the house! I am hosting a small gathering for the 4th tomorrow and I am so excited and really can't wait!! DH's mom, dad, sister, and sisters bf.... they are lovely guests and have fun senses of humor! We see them pretty much every week, but this is one of the few times it is at our place. So, DH and I cleaned every inch. Which is nice because we will be left with a clean house and can shake off chores next weekend :)

We're putting together the menu and thinking chicken and beef kabobs, chips and salsa, and trying to decide what kind of cupcakes.... oh and sangria too!! I believe they are bringing some other dishes over. Fun part is ... they come over we have a big lunch.. then off to the town parade. It sounds cheesy, but this is so very much my favorite reason to celebrate. I always get choked up over seeing soldiers march, the american flags waving, the national anthem!!! Plus it should be sunny tomorrow which is a total bonus!!
