Purging is hard for me. I wouldn't say I'm a packrat exactly but I have a hard time letting things go. I have a tendency to box things up with the intention of "using it later". Then I forget about it and come upon it years later. I know, let the crap go.....!!!!

It is hard...once I get into a "cleaning out" groove with a glass of wine, that's when it begins to be cathartic, lol! Sometimes it takes that little "extra push..." I think I actually have the hardest time with books. I love my books, but when the shelves are full and books are overflowing into piles, I have to purge. No room for any more shelves! I don't know where they all come from...I am banned from buying books right now if they are not for a specific purpose.

Are you feeling better Tyger?

Gosh, thinking about giving away my purses just makes me cringe. I've only given a couple away to my sister and somehow by "keeping it in the family", I was OK with it.

Not really @ Kris :(

Ohhh books, my mom always yells at me for keeping books; she's all worried we're going to get silverfish so she made me put them in plastic containers and stuff lol she makes me purge books at home all the time.

Kmh, you get the keys to your new house tomorrow! Whoowooo!

TK, feel better! Hope it’s not this coughing this I have. I did a report in grade school on whooping cough… and I know I don’t have that, but man it makes me think of it.

Ode, sounds like your celebration went nicely and that you were able to get through it! Really sounds like you have certainly earned that Teal Immesurable.. can’t wait to see your pictures! I am still laughing about MIL Margaritas!!

Syb, your new cat Lincoln looks like royalty… great picture!

I was laughing about you guys talking about purging books – I am so guilty of needing to do this. Have you guys heard of Book Crossing? You can release books in to the “wild” and then someone else finds them…. I keep meaning to give it a try and I think it would be fun to go look for a released book.

Soooo…. All those dry thoughts work!

I went on a fantastic hike yesterday through a primitive spot which is on the list of the 75 last greatest places. I am a bit sore today, but no worse for the wear! I took over 200 pictures and can’t wait to go through them tonight to see how they came out. We went up rocks, scrambled a bit, practiced 3 point hiking, went into a cave to splunk (it still had a bunch of ice and lots of water from the recent rains). We ate wild blueberries, met a lot of nice people, and just had a blast!! Over all it was 6 miles over the course of 6 hours.

I am already looking forward to this particular hike again next year! Hiking is good for the soul!!

Here are some snaps DH caught of me goofing off

^ you can say it.. I am a total dork!! I get so hyped up and silly when I'm hiking.

The hike was arranged by the NY Nature Conservatory and lead by an AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club) guide. Ranger Rick was our guide and this place has entry by permit only... he only takes in group of 12 at a time. It was beyond cool! Second time DH and did this hike.

I have not heard of Book Crossing. Will have to check it out. Sounds like fun!

TK, I have never even given a thought to silverfish with books...shows what a great "cleaner" I am! Haha...life's too short, IMO. I clean, of course, but don't give a ton of thought beyond the basic scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming. I don't know what I'd do if I had to put all of my books "out of sight." I have to see them in order to find what I need!

I recently went to the same strategy for my foldable clothes. I could never find things in my drawers, so I got rid of the dresser and went to a shelving system for my foldables. Now I can organize them by type of item and color, which has made a huge difference. I wear a lot more of my sweaters, tees, jeans and PJs now, and I can see it all at once.

Kittybag omg you are so adorable in all your hiking gear! What a great day it sounds like... caves... OMG I love caves they are so freakin cool lol! Wild blueberries, yum! Glad you had fun!

Luv... my mom always worries about the silverfish because apparently they are attracted to the glue in the bindings; especially in older books or something like that???

Thanks everyone for the well-wishing... I'm feeling a bit better today, my fever is definitely gone; stomach seems to be a bit better but I still have a major major headache.

Kitty...I love your photos and am so glad you had a good time on your hike! If you ever get to Texas around San Antonio...there is Canyon Lake there, and there is a guided hike into a river gorge made in one week in extreme flooding...and there are dinasaur tracks etc, that have been uncovered...it is about half a day, but a cool hike!

TK...glad you are feeling better!

Kris...so excited for you tomorrow!!!

Well, I took BIL and his wife to the airport today...and MIL is still in town, but has "better" things to do then hang with us, so we won't see her again...this weekend feels like 2 weeks have past...and yes, DH, BIL, SIL and me had some 6 packs out on the deck last night and have determined maybe future family gathering need to have alcohol present...maybe then they would be more fun, and not as much tension and drama...and I have NO GUILT over that bag coming tomorrow...I earned it, and then so much more!

My thought for the day was that God gave me the in laws I have, so that I could appreciated my own parents that much more...honestly, next time I see my Mom I am going to give her a big hug, and if she asks why, it will be just because she is MY Mom and I am thankful I had her, and not someone like my MIL...

OMG...LMAO. I can totally relate. I take my own wine to my in-laws. I am not kidding. Glad you survived! Fistbump to you, girlfriend.

Can't wait to see the bag.

Odeb, did you have plenty of margaritas this weekend? LOL

Kittybag, love the pictures. I was watching Mad Men this weekend, catching up on the first season, and one of the stories was a neighbor woman went walking... all the other wives were puzzled... "why?" Why did she walk? Guess they didn't do that in the 50s LOL Glad you had a good time
