I am a member of the enabler club...just totally rationalized a pair of Louboutins for a girlfriend via text message. She said I was an evil genius. What can I say..it's a gift . Don't ever turn to me if you genuinely want to be talked out of something...especially a handbag.

Yeah...I'm good for such things. Let me know if you ever need a solid rationale for your purchase, lol!

Um, frankly with him, I just hope he doesn't notice. He doesn't get too bothered, as he knows I also end up selling/getting rid of a lot of bags (all the non-Tanos, pretty much). When we were first married, he used to ask me all the time what I had paid for my bags. "What did that one cost??" It drove me crazy. I finally told him, "Don't ever ask me that again. I work hard, we save our money, and I use my disposable income for handbags. You don't need to know what they cost if they're not eating into the money we need for the important things. Do you want me to ask what your hobbies cost, 'cause I sure can start!!" He never asked again!

P.S. it helps that I make more than him and we keep our money separate. We both feed into the same savings, but checking accts for day-to-day are separate. I can't tell you the grief that has saved me over the years.

We keep our accounts separate as well, and I agree...that has saved me a ton of grief and questions...but he refuses to write things down, and as a CPA...I just can't handle that, so this works a lot better!

And I agree...bills paid, money into savings...no problem on bags...it is my ONE splurge!

We keep separate accounts, too, but I do spend more than he does 'frivolously'. But when he buys toys they usually plug in and are way more than a Tano or three (or seventeen).

I'm huffing my Creepy Crawler.

That is what I always say...his big splurges are easily $800-2000 (electronics or photography stuff) so that is easily multiple bags!

I always love when he tells me the new flat screen LCD tv which required a new receiver and new surround sound speakers to go with the new blu ray player (that was my down fall I agreed to the blu ray) is a FAMILY purchase...not his...I'm like yea...honey until I met you I had a $300 tv from Wally world and was perfectly happy!

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! I get the exact same answer. Like we needed a stupid 52" flat tv when our couch is barely 4 feet from the wall the thing is mounted on. (AND he wipes the screen down on Saturday mornings all lovingly with this lint free rag....and shouts "DON'T TOUCH MY TV SCREEN" if DD points at something....but it's a FAMILY purchase. hahaha)

Men..... gotta them!
