Default My Boogie is peeling! :(

I'm almost afraid to post this with all of the talk of Tano leather, but I wanted some input. I only carried it yesterday, and noticed this morning when I was lovingly admiring it that there is a small spot where the purple is peeling off!! It's not all that noticeable unless you are really looking at the bag, but it worries me that it may continue and get worse. What to do? I know there was just a thread on repairing a bag, but I don't know that this can be repaired. I purchased it from an eBay store, and I think I will contact the seller, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this experience.

Thanks.

I would contact the seller regarding this issue. It is possible that the bag has been worn and may not be as new as the seller stated. It is also possible the bag is defective. It happens with every bag. This is also a peril of buying a bag on eBay.
I ran into a similar problem when I ordered from a certain online retailer. The bag that I received was damaged. The company refused to accept the bag back, so I contacted Tano and they fixed the bag no questions asked. The company will fix the bag, but I advise you to work it out with the seller first.

That's surprising, especially if the bag is new. I've been carrying my watermelon Boogie often this summer and while it has softened up, it has never peeled in even the tiniest of ways. Definitely contact the seller, as this isn't the sort of thing that should happen the first time you take a bag for a stroll.

Thanks ladies! I will definitely contact the seller - it was suposedly NWT, and the tags were attached. The seller has excellent feedback so I will definitely contact her before contacting Tano.

OH no! This should definately not be happening. I have had zero episodes of this w/ any of my Tanos....and a couple are from '05 and the crunch still looks and smells new.....and my blueprint Boogie from last fall has been my favorite bag since she arrived at my doorstep and has seen all kinds of action and is still as gorgeous as the day she arrived.

I hope the seller is helpful!!!

I've never had peeling from any of my Tanos, but definitely all leather has potential for defects. I hope somehow you can get this fixed/resolved.

I contacted the seller, and she'd like me to send pics tonight so that she can contact Tano. I feel bad even saying anything because right now, the spot is so tiny, it's barely noticeable. But it's there. I'll keep everyone posted. Meanwhile, it's still a gorgeous bag!!! :)

Well MMTJ I'd be a little upset too, if I loved the bag. Plus I'm not into distressed so that would bother me more. Sounds like a good seller who is taking the matter into their hands!

Please don't feel bad about posting this (I'd be upset, too)! It actually could be really helpful, if anyone else has this problem. Hope it gets resolved quickly, though.

I'm curious, is this peeling actually pieces falling off or areas flaking off? I know that MMTJ's is a Fall bag, is yours too Crystalina? I took my "Betty" (Boogie) out for 1 test run, and am wondering if I should take her out a few times more to make sure she doesn't peel.

For mine, I guess it's more like a flaking....kind of like a very thin film of purple is peeling away, and it's black underneath. If I try to grab the peeling part, it feels a bit tacky, springy, if that makes sense. It's hard to describe. Mine also almost immediately began crackling, which I know is to be expected, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. I don't mind, I just thought it happened pretty quickly since I only carried the bag yesterday.

can you post a pic of it? i know my crunch leather flakes off some with wear but it is not black underneath and just looks little distressed.

Sorry this is happening to you. Glad the seller is working on it.
