I agree with MamaToJakers---it's a FLAKING more than a peeling...and when it peels away, the dark brown leather beneath it is exposed. The first time I saw it, I thought it was dirt. After examining it, though, I noticed it was b/c the leather had flaked off. : (

Mine is an Apricot Boogie that I got about 2 months ago.

Hmm...I wonder if this happened to me as well? My lawn boogie has one panel that is obviously very different than the rest. It looks kind of "scaly". I let it go at first but then I noticed a little piece of the green leather "flaked" off and it's like a putty color underneath? It's just that one little spot so I was content to live with it because it's such an awesome color but if it's flaking I wonder will the whole panel eventually do that? And if so can Tano repair it for me? I'll post pics of mine too so that we can compare and see if we are all having the same issue.

^my pool sexbomb does this same thing you described. I sprayed it with Apple Guard 1st but it still flakes in a few small areas. It is not very noticeable with the design & buckles on my sexbomb so I don't mind it but on a boogie bucket it would stand out more I think. I thought it was part of the crunch leather so I will be curious to see pics.

BTW knasarae--I love your Jade Nikki in your avatar!!

I think that there might have been a drop of stray glue on the leather and when it rubbed off (contacting your clothing, etc) it might have "peeled" off some of the color/finish with it. Ive seen that happen to lether goods from time to time over the years, Tano bags included. Usually if you just run the spot with a little mink oil or colored cream it will just blend right in. Give that a try before you go to all the trouble of returning the bag, fussing with the e bay seller, etc...

I have never had any problems with my boogies or sexbomb. No flaking or scaling of any sort and I carry one or the other everyday.

Didn't someone use a cream on a Lawn bag that matched perfectly? Can anyone remember what it was and what color was used? I think I'm gonna try that. Here are the pics. And sorry to hi-jack this thread. Just thought it would be better to post here in case we are having the same problem.

The "scaley" panel is on the bottom right-hand side

The small part that flaked off is circled.

A closeup. Oddball panel is the bottom left-hand side

I don't really mind it being flaky as long as the pieces of leather don't continue to chip off. I guess I do a TPF search so I can find that cream.

I just sprayed my Boogie with more protectant. I did get a small, tiny scratch on it, the scratch is white. No signs of peeling or flaking. I checked my other Tanos as well and will continue to be vigilant.
^^Knasarae spinach Tarago (sp?) cream was once used on a lawn bag and it was reported that it matched perfectly.

Knasarae, I have a scaley/wrinkled panel on one of my TANOs as well. I just conditioned it and it was a little better. I have a bit of flaking, but nothing major since the bag is dark (blueprint) it's not very noticeable.

Somewhere in our beloved Tano subforum I have pics of the crackily panel on my blueprint Boogie. Unfortunately, DD is hogging my computer (I'm on her laptop haha) and I didn't save the pics to my actual Tinypic account because I'm a dumba$$ but none of it has actually peeled. It's surprisingly very soft (the crackly portion)...just like the rest of the bag. But no peelies so far. .....knock on wood!

Well that makes me feel better. I think I'm gonna get some of that Tarago (sp?) cream for the spot on the panel. I wasn't going to condition it because I like how the brown undertones are starting to come through. But I may have to. Thanks kmh1190...I could not remember the name of that cream!

knas - the part that flaked off of my bag looks a lot like yours. I did take pics last night, but then my sister decided to go into labor, so I spent the rest of the evening in the hospital. (she had a 9 lb 3 oz baby boy this morning, and if you can believe it, she only gained 15 lbs!! Umm, how does that happen???).

Anyway, I will try to post pics of my boogie this evening. Both of the bottom panels on both sides of the bag almost immediately started crackling - it doesn't look like yours, knasarae, but I think I do remember seeingp pics of a blueberry (or blueprint?) boogie that looked a lot like mine, as far as the wear goes. Is it normal for them to wear this quickly? I do love it, regardless, and have gotten lots of compliments on it already. :)

Ok, I must be the world's biggest dummy....I was looking at my bag again today, and I kept thinking about what TE said about the possibility of a bit of glue getting on the bag and pulling away. Hmm...so I looked again, and thought, what would happen if I just keep pulling at this little bit (could have been a disaster, I know, but it's like a scab that you have to pick). So I pulled, and the little piece just came right off...and it's normal underneath, just crackled grape leather.

I'm so sorry to have caused a Boogie issue unnecessarily. Thank you, though, for being so helpful to me!

And now I am thrilled that I don't have to worry about my Boogie, and I can just enjoy its crackled grape deliciousness.

That's great news. I still a huge proponent of spraying/protecting!
