LUV-my conservative, under the radar bag is a black leather Kate Spade. I've had it for years-I think the style is "Wellesley Quinn". Kinda your typical classic Kate Spade with the two short handles, rectangular body. Fortunately, I don't need to use it much!
Yes, I need something like that. I'll investigate KS. I really don't want to spend more than $300 and I know I won't use it much. I'm kind of preppy-ish, but not overly conservative if that makes sense. I like the edge of the Tano bags, so I just didn't realize until recently that I need a plain black bag to be around for things like interviews. With my industry, it all depends. I work somewhere extremely casual now, as it's a creative agency environment. As long as a client's not in that day, I could practically wear my PJs and no one would notice. But, I'm now interviewing for corporate-world jobs again, and while I'll carry whatever I want once I get in there, I need to be more careful in the interviews! I hate to say it, but I know women interviewers judge accessories. It's in our nature to notice other women's purses and shoes!

Luv - Based upon your style and your budget, I would recommend a bag from Hayden Harnett that happens to be on sale right now. It's the Conrad...marked down from $450 to $183. If you're going to carry a bag to interviews, I think a shoulder bag is key. You want to have both hands free - one for holding resume or other documents, etc. and one for shaking hands.

HH charges for shipping but there are free returns and you can return sale items as long as they're not marked down 75% or more.

Photo from the HH website:

Odeb, I love your "I'm Yours"! I like how the corners are protected by those strips on the bottom!

Odeb!!! That is stunning! I absolutely love it. The color and leather are incredible. I have been going to BE's site and stalking all the bags. I really like this one.

Thanks Syb! I really like that. I'm going to check it out. I agree - shoulder bag is key. Hands must be free to shake with others, carry portfolio, etc.

Realized I forgot to post Botkier Trigger photos. I will do that this weekend. I've decided it's way too big for any kind of everyday purse use (and I LOVE large bags), but it will serve me extremely well as a 2nd travel carryon. I think that will be its purpose. Photos soon!

Hobo International Bess Clutch in Rouge (dark red). Vintage leather, which has some sheen (not as much as appears in the photo) and veining. Goldtone hardware.Khaki fabric lining with a large zip pocket, two larger slip pockets, and six card slots. Lining is a bit darker than photo shows. Clutch measures about 9.5" wide x 5.5" tall. There's a loop on the back to slip your hand through, or you can hold it from the top. Very cute and great price at $29! Here's the front...
