According to the BE subforum, it sounds like corner wear may depend on the leather choice. I was so smitten with BE when I first learned about it (through the blog, of course), but I've stepped back to evaluate what I really want. I really should have tried to get something during the sale, but I think I may dip my toe in the water with an eBay gently used purchase first.

Gals, the ebay purchase Botkier large Trigger arrived. It's huge! It was slightly more used than I expected, as the seller described it as perfect, and it has some front corner wear. But, it's metallic black, so the color makes that hard to see, and metallic leathers get that kind of rub so easily. I cleaned the inside of its residual crumbs (gross), and stuffed it full of paper to regain its shape, as it was a bit wonky from shipping flat. I will take some pix this weekend and post them here. I think it will work for so many things. I tote around so much crap! I will say that getting this huge Trigger has made me want the more standard sized one as well. I can have a Trigger family! LOL, it never ends!

Can't wait to see it LuvBags!!!

I did buy 2 things in the BE sale...so that is why I am going to be exercising severe self control the rest of the year... I have a couple bespokes coming in, and with that and my planned Tano purchases, I am just going to have to be happy until next year!!

This is an older Trigger from when they made small, medium, and large. This was the "large." Now they only make was used to be the "medium," so most of the ones you see are smaller than this one. I was purposely stalking eBay for one of these. They are hard to come by.

Ohh!! Gotcha! I have one Botkier but in general I'm really not knowledgable about that brand... love the light pink that the james bags came in this past season though; too much $$ for me sadly!

Botkier has great sales, so I recommend stalking the site for them. I generally do not pay full price for them. I either find a gently used on eBay or wait for the sales. ShopBop puts them on sale pretty regularly too.

Pre-cheating warning: A Treesje will be mine sometime in the next few months. Not sure exactly what yet, but it's happening...oh, it's happening. Maybe an Asher, but there are a few others I'm also drooling over. I have been on the sidelines for years with Treesje, and I think it's time to take the plunge. Maybe it's another "test via Avelle" scenario first.

It is DEVINE!!! I was THIS close to getting a petit larceny at the fireworks MHB sale, and I decided not to and went for something else as I knew I had this coming...and now I am so glad...I think this will be my go to cross body bag...

And yes, no pictures...darn camera died...so I will recharge and post some tomorrow!

Odeb! Yay! Can't wait to see! So exciting!

Does anyone have a go-to "conservative" bag? I have noticed a gap in my bag wardrobe for something like this, like for job interviews and other situations that call for the ol' "navy blue suit" type of attire. Unfortunately, I don't think Tanos are good for this purpose. I need something to pull out that is in a neutral color, matte leather, and doesn't have buckles, studs, or tassels. It feels like it should not be overly slouchy or have a bunch of edgy details. Just something more subdued, but I don't want to go too boring.

Also, in my industry, it's pretty much expected that women carry a "better" bag, but for interviews, nothing too high end. It's kind of hard to explain, but it's good to be complimented on your bag in an interview, but you don't want to have a better bag than the woman interviewing you, LOL!

Any recos?

I'm thinking a black satchel or a structured hobo might be best. It won't be used very often, but I've had a need for something like this twice recently, so it would be good to have. Maybe a Cole Haan? They are nice but also don't scream "I don't need this job."

Good question....perhaps a broader range of responses if you post on the general forum.

Personally, I carry a work tote or briefcase to interviews and leave my bag in the car.

Have you looked at either the MAM from RM, or a BE bag like the Love Me, or TMA original (which you could bespoke in any leather etc), granted both of those are a tad pricey, but seem to be classic, well made bags...

HOLY CRAP Ode.....gooooooorgeous leather! Congrats!

My DD has been DYING for these Ed Hardy flip flops so I ordered them for her yesterday. And my Hub, bless his fashionless heart, told me that was 'way too much for stupid flip flops'. Poor non-chic, anti-trendy man.
