Here is what Tano Expert said in one of the threads:

Its actually crunch leather, just with an extra coat of gloss and crinkled when wet to give that crackled effect. It ends up looking sort of semi-patent.

I dunno but since Alex says all the ripple leather bags are going to crunch I'm guessin' the difference is huge!

Congratulations on fine bag in a great color! We will be grapey twins when my grape boogie comes in. However, I am putting my money on the table that there will be a Fall blue coming your way at some point.

I really like that bag in the grape crunch. I wanted a purple bag for fall so I went ahead and preordered the strictly sauvage in amethyst velvet leather because there was only one more available. It's hard to take the plunge without knowing the actual bag size but I really liked the style. I think August is the ship date for this style as well.

I don't know if I like it or not lol... I like the picture of it on the self service but it's too muted for me on the petite larceny... I'm so undecided and likely will be until I see more pics
