Default Hey Mama, is that Obama?? A Reveal!
Okay girls...here's the Obama Mama reveal! This was an eBay score and I was unsure whether I'd like it. However, I had been drawn to the Lenny leather, and I knew I'd have to try SOMETHING in it. I'm so glad I made this bag my choice. I do not know the name of the color, but it's a beautiful rich brown. The leather is lightweight, wrinkly, and very soft. I'm so pleased!

This photo shows the color pretty well.

There is an "irregularity" in the leather on the front, as you can see. It looks like a dark spot, but it is embedded in the leather, not a topical spot. It looks worse in the close-up than it does when you view the whole bag. It does not bother me at all. It's also underneath where my arm naturally falls. It also came with a few stitches loose in the front seam vertical seam near the top. I reinforced it a bit with some matching thread and put some clear nail polish on the threads to keep them secure.

Here's a side view. See how the side is gathered? There's actually a snap underneath there, and when you unsnap it, the bag is even larger! I should have taken an unsnapped view photo. So sorry - I'll add that later.

View of lining:

So...I'm happy! What a great deal! I owe you all a view of the bag unsnapped, as well as a modeling pic. I'll try to do those later today.

Pretty!!! I love the shape of it and the Lenny leather. The color looks like Tobacco, same as my Debbie Metal.

Definitely cool. Now can someone possibly explain the name to me? Was it named after now Prez Obama (who was prob a Senator when this bag was made) or is there some other meaning?
This bag reminds me of the old-school Koobas.

Thanks for the color name Joan and TE! Tobacco describes it perfectly.

No idea on the name...hope TE comes back to weigh in. I bet it was named when he was a rising star in the senate.

wowie!! i totally wouldn't mind the spot at all-- or even if there were more that came along from use the leather looks rugged and the stitching on the handles sorta accentuate it...awesome boho-vintagey-looking bag!!!!

^good call. I had a Kooba Sienna years ago and it did have similar stitching. Even the leather was somewhat rumpled like the Lenny leather although I think Lenny is softer.
