Default For anyone who might be considering the LRC

You all know by now how much I this bag .... and I know there are a few of you that are thinking of purchasing the LRC - So I wanted to share my day with her.

We're expecting to be hit by Tropical Storm Hanna hard tomorrow - today it rained most of the day and when I left for work this morning, the news said the rain wasn't going to start till late tonight ...

Well .. it was pouring when I left work and I just stood there inside the doorway trying to figure out the best way to get to my car (which is parked about a half a football field away) and protect my new purse. I looked around the shop for anything to cover it .. and everything just looked too dirty to put near her. So I decided to just make a run for it. Tucked her under my arm and prayed that she wouldn't get soaked on the way to the car.

Jumped in the car and she was drenched. I just sat there in the drivers seat trying to find something to blot away all that rain water ... of course .. NOTHING was in my car .. so I just drove home.

ANYHOW - ALL that rain ... didn't even make a difference with her. Most of it just rolled right off - it was all beaded and rolling while I was driving. AND she seriously just got drenched. I walked in the door and hubby said "Man, you look like you've been playing in the rain." - then saw me rushing to the kitchen and knew I was freaked about the LRC. But she was perfectly fine.

Oh .. and I have NOT weatherproofed my bag ... she's just nekkid!

WOW, that's awesome that the LRC can take the rain like that!! That's probably better than crunch leather I would assume?? We're supposed to get a lot of rain here tomorrow night. I'm in New England so we have it coming our way. :(

P_A, I'm sorry you got so nervous, but thanks for reporting back! I'm glad the LRC is no worse for the wear!

^^ Bike Chick, Ooh, what's a purse raincoat? Mine is usually a plastic bag!

Is the crunch leather bad in the rain? My Amanda hasn't been out in the rain at all .... would hate for something to happen to her!

Great to know about velvet leather!!!!!!!!

My rain story:

I got caught in a Chicago DOWNPOUR with my pearl crunch leather streetwalker... I wouldn't even know. There isn't a drop, stitch, smudge, NOTHING out of place. This was also before I appled her. However, I would still avoid being in the rain if at all possible... especially with darker bags? I'm not sure if the color would bleed? I didn't have a choice with my situation but the rain just rolled right off. Go tano go!

I've gotten caught with crunch leather in the rain. Always dried fine. Bags unprotected.

Well, living in Portland, the first thing I did with my Boogies was to apply the apple conditioner and garde spray! Rain is the one thing I can count on, weather-wise. Glad to hear about the LRC! It's sounding better all the time.

I've been caught in the rain with my Lawn and Congo Green Boogies. There isn't the slightest hint of water ever touching either one of them.

Just got the Anthropologie catalog and there are two beautiful photos of the ruby LRC. Really luscious looking (they may have these photos on their website, haven't looked yet.) Just love, love, love this bag, but I need a longer strap drop.

They are also selling what looks like the Mythic Proportions in yellow (pineapple?). Beautiful looking bag, I think its the same as the Model Citizen, but in crunch leather.

Like the LRC/SB, the straps are too short for my fluffy arms...

^^ AEdo, that's how I fell in love with the LRC, seeing it on the Anthropologie website.
