What's the ideal situation in which to initiate a first kiss?

I hate it when a guy asks....best one ever was when I was a 1st date with a guy, and as we hurrying across the street....he just stopped me for a kiss. Luckily there weren't any cars coming.

My first "real" kiss was the summer I was 15 years old. I was with this guy on the beach - we had taken a walk and held hands, were talking, etc. There was one of those small catamaran boats beached on the sand. We laid down on the boat to look at the stars, and he leaned over and kissed me. It was sweet!

You two stopped traffic didn't you? I think the best first kisses are done in the heat of the moment and without permission sought. You know when you ask for one it just kills the moment.

at the college i go to, we have a chapel bell called the Victory Bell on the old part of campus, just across from downtown, where the cool bars and restaurants are (and where most of the town's dates take place). well, when the guy i'm currently dating and i went on our first date, we ended up walking around campus at night after having a few drinks, and i went to show him the bell (he's fairly new in town), and after he rang it, he turned around and kissed me on the mouth.

nice.

we had an ALMOST first kiss a few minute before that. we were standing on the corner, waiting at a huge crosswalk to be able to cross the street that separates downtown and campus, and i was standing up on the sidewalk and he was on the street. in my slightly intoxicated state, i made the comment that when i was up on the sidewalk, we were almost the same height (he's 8 inches taller than me), and he said 'well that's convenient' and leaned in...and then JUST as he leaned in, the walk signal changed and the crowd of people around us all rushed forward to cross the street...so we both pulled back a bit, smiled, and crossed the street.

so, don't overthink the first kiss. they're the best when they come out of the circumstances that you're in.

i love the way my boyfriend initiated our first kiss... it was already our third date, and we had started holding hands, but i still felt really shy around him. he dropped me off at my apartment and it was that awkward moment when you have to say good-bye, and i didn't know what to do, so i did what i had done the first two dates - i ran in to give him a hug good-night. he pushed me back a bit and said, "will you let me kiss you already?" and leaned in.

My first kiss with my now husband was C R A Z Y !!! And such a good memory...I will tell more later but I will say I kissed him first, slept with him that night, he moved in a month later, and married him 6 months later. (we will be married 5 years on Valentines Day!) HOLLLAAA!!

I still remember me and my SO's first kiss. We hung out/dated for 2 weeks and I remember asking myself why he hasn't kissed me!! Then one day when I was laying on top of him on my couch.. he pulled me in and kissed me out of no where!!

LOL! My first kiss with DH was on a dare... my 15 year old daughter dared me to kiss him and so I did.

my first kiss ever was with a boy who asked my permission. I thought it was sweet (I was in the 5th grade)

none of my other first kisses have been very memorable, to tell you the truth... most of them were the classic been out drinking and ending up kissing before you really know what's going on -scenario. not very romantic at all.

I really like the view sitting on the roof of the visual arts center building on the outskirts of campus, say 2am, when there are no cars and you can see right into the campus.
