Personally i wouldn't let it bother me. I've actually had one or two of my friends and my sisters say it to me when i've pointed out a bag i like, and i value their opinions, in fact sometimes they are right, the bag looks like crap and i snap out of wanting to buy it. But there is a difference between people who say they don't like a bag in a constructive manner and people who say it like they're putting me down or looking down on me like they're better than me for some reason
 and to these people i usually just say "well that's good for you and even better for me, it will mean that i don't have to worry about us carrying the same bag when we meet again"

It wouldn't bother me. Everyone has their own taste. There are some bags belonging to my friends/family that I think are not my cup of tea. If I'm close to them (& their ego can handle it) then I would tell them so. If not, then I keep my mouth shut.
Heck, even dh thinks some of my handbags are ugly. But I don't hate him for his opinion. |

You should have said that you like the bag and that's really all that matters. I don't live to please others. I might not like what someone else is wearing or what bag they are using, but I have enough tact to keep my mouth shut. It's called having a little class. Your friend has her own opinions and taste, but saying that it's ugly is just plain rude. I'm sorry that she rained on your parade. Enjoy your bag. It's gorgeous and you love it so that's all that matters.
