meh i'd just say thanks for your concern and leave it at that.

my sister's ex always called my LV's grandma bags. i just shrugged.

Unfortunately many times I can't keep my mouth shut when someone is obviously rude I would tell her, "I don't remember asking you for your opinion", or depending on whether I cared for this person or not, I'd most likely say something awfully catty back to her about one of her purses, etc. just to let her know how it feels when someone is rude to you. There is absolutely no reason for someone to be rude. Now, if someone were to ask if I liked a particular purse, or whatever it is, and I didn't like it I would be honest and let them know exactly why I don't like it.

If you're nicer than me then you can get down to specifics and ask her specifically, "what do you not like about it" and make her explain what it is she doesn't like, the actual vernis material, handles, style, LV, etc. I hate it when people just make blanket statements without backing up why they don't like something. It drives me crazy and I always call them out on it.

I'd probably say most people act like this out of pure jealousy, whether it be that you have more money, are prettier, etc. they need to say something rude to put you down a peg and to make themselves feel better about themselves.

Just my 2 cents.

How rude!! I agree she's envous of you for whatever reason but too bad, that's not the way to handle it.

Tell her "thank you for sharing your opinion, however, you're mistaking me for someone who cares what you think."

Oh wow, that's awfully rude. No matter how close I am to a friend, I truly believe that everyone's taste and sense of beauty are unique so I have no right to tell anyone that what he/she think is beautiful is ugly.

i wont take it to heart! shes juz jealous! not many people can afford a purse right now because the economy (like me i hate being on a BAN! ugh!) shes probably sour graping. juz say something like "well I happen to find it beautiful thats why I bought it!"

I don't particularly like Vernis, but that's a nice looking bag.

Some "ladies" just feel like everything is a competition. Frankly, it's boring to be around...just ignore her and/or if she says anything like that in the future, just say, "Well, isn't it nice that people have such different tastes?"

They proceeded to say "oh I hate Vernis, why would you buy it, it is ugly" I said I like Vernis and that is why I bought it. They rolled their eyes at me and changed the subject.

Some people are just honest without paying attention to being rude or hurtful. It doesn't mean it's okay, but maybe she is raised that way or doesn't think it's wrong... so I would be honest with her to and just tell her that you think she is rude. Wonder what she will say about that.

Taste/style is all subjective.

Did you want your friends to lie to you and say "OMG! IT'S GORGEOUS!!!!!!1" even if in their opinion it's the most heinous bag on earth?

My friends and I don't really have a problem with different tastes on fashion/style or even guys. I might word it more like "That's not really my style, but if YOU love it, that's what matters" or I might simply say "That's cute" without being all gushy about it. Some people are just more blunt than others without realizing it.

I wouldn't be offended. I also wouldn't be so quick to say "She HAS TO BE jealous!!!" because no one except for her really knows that.

I also don't think there is a need to shoot a snippy comment her way like "does that make you feel better?" or whatever. That is just adding fuel to the fire and could cause an unnecessary rift between you.

I have some good friends that say some of my things are ugly, overpriced, etc. I dont get upset if they say things. We are comfortable with each other to be honest. hell you and I tell each other the truth. lol. Sounds like your not very close with this person and he/she sounds like a crappy shopping partner . Find someone else!!!!! Some people dont have a filter.

ps. call me and tell me who it is LOLOL
