Usually when a guy (or girl) says something like this, they already have someone else. I would wager that he already is involved with someone, or at the very least is interested in a certain someone. I agree that Cristina's advice is the way to go. "Closure" is overrated, especially in a case like this.

I agree with the others. Beat him to it, have a good cry, and start moving on with your life.

Either that, or I might tell him to man up and just say what he has to say. That is, if you really need to hear him say it for "closure", which I agree is overrated in this situation.

LDRs only work if BOTH hearts are in it. Sounds like his isn't. I'm sorry OP!

I would try to talk to him once about this. But after that you should move on, I have a snealy suspicion he will get in touch with you in about a month or so. When he does that will be a tough call on your part as to what you should do. Just remember that you deserve the best and don't let someone hurt you, you're fabulous!

my gut feeling is that he has found someone else. I hate this kind of mamsy pamsy beat around the bush bullsh*t. why does everything have to be a riddle? tell him to poop or get off the pot.

I also think there is more to this...Based only on what his text says, it does sound like he's feeling lonely and the LDR thing just isn't working for him...Ne needs someone to be there with him.

But, it could also be that he has met a girl that he sees a future with and wants to be with her since she is there for him when he needs her

yea you should definitely have a bigger talk with him- he owes that to you, and people can say things when there frustrated that they don't really mean, i wouldn't jump to conclusions and break up with him without having a heart to heart
