Wow Mssy,
Yo and DF sure have been busy during more than most people could do. Everything looks great and I think you are probably feeling like it is your house now with your stamp in decorating it. I love the dark walls in the bedroom and the bathroom came out great. Nothing like clean white closets to start organizing your clothes, ect.
I just started ripping the ugly wallpaper off my kitchen walls this week and it is the biggest pain ever. I hate it. Your kitchen cabinets look great and I think you will love the color once the doors are on them. I don't think you can get the full effect until the doors and hardware are on them. I did my cabinets in one house and between the new paint and hardware the kitchen did come out so much better. What kind of furniture have you bought for the house? How about window treatments? I hope you have some of your beautiful photography prints to hang up too. Keep the picture posted, it is so nice to see your house from start to now.....can't wait to see it all done.
Good luck and get some rest when you can.

You might laugh at this but I am painting my kitchen red-a nice pottery barn color. I have always played it safe with pastel beach colors but wanted to get bold and make a statement. I do find that the dark work well, expecially when one leaves out the clutter. I am going from shabby chic beach to a clean feng shui look-uncluttered and trying to find a sense of calmness when you are in a room. Hubby lets me do what eve I want but he has no idea that our kitchen will be red--it's a big step up from the bronze foil grapes of Italy wallpaper that was on the walls.

We've bought some brown leather living room furniture, it is BEAUTIFUL!

Yeah, we've been busy. And it's all starting to come to a head right now.Everything has to be done RIGHT NOW but we can only do one thing at a time and it is starting to be uber stressful! But if we can make it through this, we can make it through anything I figure!

Window treatments? We're not doing any kind of window blinds, I don't particularly care for them, so we're doing sheers and then drapes on top of the sheers. Don't know what colors yet. My Mom and I are taking a road trip to get some top of the line window treatments.

Yeah, I have a few of my photography prints to go up, but nothing spectacular, IMO. I'm one of those artists that doesn't like a single thing I produce, while other people love them!

Relax? What does that mean?? I haven't had relaxing time in sooo long. I take that back....Sunday afternoon, ok Sunday NIGHT, after we had supper, me and DF and my Mom all sat down to watch a Halloween movie, "Beetlejuice" was on ABC Family, and we all fell asleep. I snoozed in DF's arms and felt very content. I'm ready for another snooze session. I rest easier when he's around!

G'Night tPf!

Sooo last night we "piddled" around with the house. That was my Mom's word she used. We got the cabinet doors primed and ready to be sanded and painted. And night before we got the laundry room paneling primed. My Uncle came and got the old stove out of the kitchen, which was a huge help, now we're waiting on FIL to finish fixing the bathroom plumbing and to get the fridge out of the kitchen floor! We have to get a lot done tonight (taking HALLOWEEN NIGHT off!) and the first part of next week, cause at the end of next week they are putting in the countertops and the wall heaters! So we have a TON to do. Maybe we can paint some more walls tonight. Right now we have a ton of junk piled up in the living room. We can't take it outside cause Prissy (our newly adopted kitty) will get into it. Oh yeah, and we got all the room doors painted, ready to go back on the hinges.

What's left to do??

1) paint the kitchen
2) paint the laundry room
3) paint the hallway
4) paint the living room (both colors)
5) paint all white trim
6) paint the cabinet base again
7) paint the cabinet doors
8) caulking around the kitchen trim
9) new countertops
10) new wall heaters
11) polishing up the hardwood floors
12) and just a ton of odds and ends, like fixing a hole in the paneling in the laundry room, nailing a door facing back together, sink instillation....you know the story!

Our goal is to have ALL of this done by November 17th, when Sears comes out to deliver all our appliances. It's all a mess right now, but I know it will all come together in a night. I just know it!

Oh yeah. I can't wait until I can sit down on the couch and just say "wow. we did this!"

DF and I were sitting against the back wall last night looking out at the entire house and I leaned up and whispered in his ear "Can you see it?" He chuckled and said "Oh yeah."

I've got some pics from the other night....lemme see if I can get them uploaded right quick!

Missy,
I am so happy for you. It seems to all be coming together to the point where you can see the end resulp. I LOVE the glass table and chairs. I have never seen ones that had that "it" factor where you are drawn to how beautiful the design is. And the color is perfect. Eventually I would love to get a round table for my eat in kitchen. It would fit the room better.
I think once the countertops are in you will see the whole picture......Can't wait for you to post pictures of the finished house.

Question I would like to ask. I just painted my kitchen red and did 2 coats of paint, I used a pottery barn paint and this is the first time I have ever done a dark color. So now I am hooked and want to go darker in other rooms. I wanted to ask you how many coats of paint did you use on your beautiful bedroom walls?

With all the work you are doing make sure you take a break to pamper yourself every now and then.

Gillianna, on the bedroom walls we did 2. We've done 2 coats on every room, except for the 3 red walls in the living room, that needed 3 coats...and it's still blotchy, but we're leaving it and saying we meant for it to be that way! Our bedroom wall paint came from Sherwin Williams and it's called "Chateau Brown."

Shoo, I have some iPhone pics but I'm gonna wait to post anything until after the cabinet doors are on! LOL!
