Missy, you're both doing a great job. I remember the days of updating my first home. They are memories I cherish and I'll always have a soft spot for that home, it got me on the property ladder. Enoy your new home and believe me, all the work you're doing will really make your appreciate your home so much more. CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes for your marriage and future together.

Thank you all so much for the well wishes! I'm cherishing every moment I get to work on the house with DF. It seems like it's bringing up closer together. Not to be mushy but I recall last week when we were taking the cabinet doors off. Before he would remove the last screw of every hinge, he would lean over and give me a quick little kiss. It's those moments that I will cherish when it comes to this house...... I can't imagine marrying anyone else after having this experience with him. I think I love him more now!

Anyway, as for the house we are getting sooo close to being finished. It's one of those so close, so far away feelings. We just need to finish painting and then we'll be done....but it's all the little things that are piling up....I'm getting excited!!!

I'll post some more pictures pretty soon when there is progress you can see! Like right now it's all cleaning and caulking and and the like.

Oh, and a question....what cleans graut? It's black black in the bathtub and I tired to bleach it out but it only turned yellow....I tried Kaboom and it turned the yellow brown. How do we get it white again??

^^ Vinegar works wonders on grout. So does hydrogen peroxide. You might want to try a portable steam cleaner if you have one.

IDK why I didn't think about vinegar and peroxide before!!! I will definitely give that a try!

I know the house can never look like it was just built but I can make it look the very best that I can!

You new home looks great - congratulations!

I second the recommendation on the steam cleaner for grout. We purchased a home in January and are still knee deep in the renovation process. I've used my Wagner power steamer to remove wallpaper (original reason for purchase) and clean all sorts of things.

No no quarrels over paint colors. He actually likes everything I picked out. In fact he had a few ideas I really liked! We seem to be very in tune with each other about this house.

My Mom and I are going this morning to finish up buying the paint. We are getting so close to having the house done.

We've been super busy this last week. We've hardly had any time to be at the house. We've had previous arrangements that we couldn't avoid and so we've neglected the house. Today and tomorrow are busy too! My great uncle and aunt sre coming to town to see us cause they can't make it down tomorrow to our firs wedding shower.....So we're all excited and stretched way thin this weekend!

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd let you in on what we've been doing instead of working on the house.

IT WAS A WEDDING SHOWER!! We are having two and this was the first one given by our families. We got so many wonderful gifts and we recruited help to work on the house on Saturday!!

So here are the pics!! I'll post more pictures of the house later.

HERE'S A SECRET: We lost my Mom's camera and didn't find it until yesterday morning, which is why there have been no more pictures!
