So I got his voice mail and left him a dorky message. Maybe I sound whiney and gay too.

lol Zophie, you have to save this for future material to make fun of him about! Hopefully one of you guys will actually pick up sometime though... I hate phone tag. You've made plans for this weekend then?? If not, you should!

mellecyn, awww that sucks! I'm sorry. He still might call, but you should find some other guys to pass your number to in the mean time, since you're totally natural with that now, right??

No, not this weekend. He said he'd like to buy me lunch Thursday or Friday. He says he feels bad about the deposition I had with him because of the traffic (was horrible traffic on the way there), though I don't see how that was his fault, especially since he didn't even set the deposition, the other guy did. I don't really see it necessarily as anything other than someone I know from work buying me lunch as he hasn't really asked me out or anything. And shoot, I may not even really like him that much. Who knows.

Well, I just actually talked to him and he didn't sound quite as gay, so that's a good sign.

yeah, I really don't think anything will come of it, but I'm actually okay with that, and maybe it'll just get my courage up more about talking to guys.

when it comes to relationships, yes! I find myself having to tell myself not to judge the future by the past.

Yey !!!! I think itīs perfectly fine to go for a "casual" dinner, both of you might make it sound like itīs related to work stuff, just as a cover, to not come accross too strong but thatīs OK ! Go with an open mind and see how it goes !! So WHEN is the dinner ??

Prayes : itīs not like I am out everyday with the oppportunity to give away my number during the week in my small town of 40000 inhabitants on the way to the supermarket lol. But I keep my eyes open.

just lunch sometime later this week. Of course I'll update how it goes.

See, I am out all the time during the week meeting tons of people and it's just like nothing really much ever comes of it. I used to think if I had a job that put me in contact with more people I'd have so many more dates, but it's not true. I actually dated more when I was an accountant just sitting in a cubicle all day.

I'm sure it was just his way of making conversation, I'll bet he's just as nervous as you are Try to be more positive in your attitude about dating, I believe we get exactly what we expect too!

I try to go out a lot, even if it's for small things like picking up a couple of groceries. Otherwise I'd just be burrowed in front of my computer everyday, plus you never who you might run into and strike up a conversation with! mellecyn do you like making random small talk to strangers? It's a really great way to meet people when you're out.

That is really funny about dating more from your cubicle, hahah. Just being a workaholic in general totally screws over my dating life.

^^In the country where I live, there isnīt much "small talk", itīs considered strange. People are relaxed and smiling but thatīs all.
I lived in the US for a semester and went several times since, and I was so nicely surprised, and didnīt know how to react !, when strangers would talk to me for such trivial things as to compliment on my shoes, or talk about the weather, or where I am from..etc...Americans are so expressive ! Even in NYC.
Where I was from, strangers would only talk to ask you money, a cigarette, or because they were weirdos.
People keep to themselves very much. In NYC I would sit at a bar and have an interesting conversation with a stranger for no other underlying motives, here I can sit at a bar alone all night, no one would ever come talk to me !!! People are not interested in strangersīlives.
