Wink Post Your Roommate Horror Stories Here!
Alright, so I saw someone's thread about a terrible roommate, and it got me thinking about how they're all out there. You know them-- the crazies, the psychos that hide behind pretty faces, expensive makeup and lots of lies.

Tell your roommate horror stories here! I'll post mine for starters.

My boyfriend's best friend and his girlfriend got in a nasty breakup, and she needed a new place to live. I'd always liked her, so I disregarded what John (my boyfriend's best friend) said about how crazy she was-- my mistake. She moved in with me soon after.

I was rarely at the flat, so she had the whole place to herself, and it was huge and quite nice-- I stayed at my boyfriend's house most of the time. And she gradually became like... weirdly jealous. Demanding that I be home more because I didn't spend enough time with her, griping because she had to clean all the time (I was never there, so of course she should clean up her mess! I mean I literally stayed there one night a week at the most).

Then my grandfather died, and while I was gone, against my wishes (and against the apartment's no dog policy) she got a dog. Then she started letting it pee all over everything, exclaiming, "Oh, you left mommy a present!" every time her horrid little yorkie took a crap on MY expensive furniture I'd supplied to furnish the flat with. She got worse and worse, very angry about me being gone, and she started to lock her dog in my bedroom, where it tore holes in my clothes and pooped and peed all over everything. Then one afternoon her dog attacked my cat, and my cat scratched the dog to defend himself. My roommate kicked the cat off the bacony, and poor kitty landed two stories below in the bushes. I was FURIOUS! She moved out soon after, leaving me with atrashed house with dog poop everywhere, and she stole a Chanel bag from me as well as a bunch of my clothes, a Kate Spade bag, some household stuff, and EVERY SINGLE REMOTE in the place so I couldn't operate any of the entertainment system or anything.

I heard she later got kicked out of 3 different schools (every major university in Arkansas) for slacking off and failing everything, and she now works at a mass-retail store (think Walmart/Target/etc) in Little Rock. I felt like she finally got her comeuppance.

Let's hear yours!

Wow, I don't have anything that bad! I had a roommate who wasn't that careful while riding in my car. She would ding the car next to her when she opened the door, and at the grocery store, she released the cart too early, and it hit my back bumper. I talked to her about it, she denied hitting my car (even though I was there and watched it happen), and she decided that I was being superior to her because she didn't have a car. We stopped talking for a while, but it was so hard coming home to someone angry with you and not talking to you, so I sucked it up and made up with her since we still had 4 months left to go in the year.

Worse room-mate I had was the one who had VERY loud sex and people in and out of the house while I tried to sleep. (I worked nights.) I had ONE friend over for an hour once on a weekend night and the next morning my roomie complained someone stole her cocaine. Since I didn't even KNOW she did drugs until then, and I abhor all illegal drugs around me (I've seen it totally destroy families) and was suddenly blaming me, I decided it was time to leave.

All the other "rommies" have been relatives and don't count so much, but they were the worse.

Ughhh. Where to start....

-I had two who both consumed massive amounts of food and beverages, yet NEVER bought groceries. I had to keep my soda in my car, otherwise they'd polish off a 12-pack of diet coke in about 5 minutes. The one girl would also steal restaurant leftovers, even if it had someone else's name on it. They never asked or even acknowledged the fact that they took it, let alone say thank you. Sometimes they'd flat out deny it.

-One roomie had her creepy deadbeat bf living with us for 4 months and he never paid rent or utilities AND he ate all our food (which as I already said, I was buying). One night I came home at 11pm and he came downstairs with a baseball bat and said he was going to 'kick my ass' because I woke him up and 'scared the shit out of him'

-Then there's the dog... They asked if I'd be okay with it, I said no. The place wasn't big enough, we lived in the city and didn't have a proper yard and no one was ever home. They went out and got a rottweiler-doberman mix. They never bought it food or walked it, so I found myself talking care of the dog since I couldn't stand to see it neglected. One day they took it back to the shelter without even consulting me, because they said it was 'too stressful' taking care of a dog

-Once I had a roommate who was still technically living in another apt, but she didn't tell us that when she signed the lease. So when it came time to pay the first rent check, she was like "uhhh yeah, about that..." Finally her parents paid it, but this girl just expected us to cover her rent and utilities until her other lease was up in 3 months.

-I also had a roommate who was a kleptomaniac. That was fun.

-Oh, then there was the slobs... These girls were so disgusting. They would make huge messes or use my dishes and then leave them in the sink. I finally gave up and said I wasn't going to clean up after them anymore. The dishes sat for a month and started growing mold. The kitchen smelled so bad I had to stop eating at home. They didn't clean up until I walked in there one day and threw up from the smell. I also remember one time I sat down on a chair and allll these chocolate wrappers just fell on the floor. Apparently the one roomie was sitting in the chair eating candy and just stuffing the wrappers down into the chair There were huge tumbleweeds of dust that would roll across the floors. It was awful. They were really rude about it too. They thought I was some kind of psycho neatfreak and used to make fun of me all the time. I ended up breaking the lease early and paying huge fines, because I couldn't take it anymore.

Ugghhhhh I could go on all day about bad roommates....

In my first college apt I had a roommate who had interesting...habits. She would eat our food that my other roommate and I would buy (we saw the wrappers in her trash!) and never came out of her room except to go to class or eat at the dining hall. A smell would come from her room - she would leave her door open when she took a shower (about 1/2 times a week) and she never did laundry. EVER. She wore the same things over and over. TMI ALERT - also - when she would use the restroom she would not flush her toilet paper. Instead, she threw it in the trash can... and sometimes she missed. Yeah. Not fun.

In the same apt another girl had her boyfriend over allll the time. He used our shower, ate our food (woke me up at 1am to ask if he could drink milk - wtf?) and invited HIS friends over to play games on our tv/video game systems. He would often walk around with only boxers on - not fun to wake up to. He would try to mooch off our food - and the thing that threw me over the edge was when he left the oven on. Good thing I walked into the kitchen and found it on.

One time I lived in a quad and one of my roomies would leave her door open and have sex with her boyfriend for all to see

I had a roomate who would eat all of my food (like a 3 pound bag of tortellini from costco) and then say that workmen must have come in to the apartment and eaten it while I was at class. Needless to say, I was naive and in good faith I talked to building security who informed me that nobody had entered the apartment (we had scan keys, like a hotel). I would come home and have entire loaves of bread, dozens of bagels, bags of cookies, containers of orange juice, etc. go missing. Once, I came home and there were bowls of maple syrup all over the counter and an empty box of (my) frozen waffles out. One halloween, my roomate drank so much that she passed out in a dorm elevator wearing a maid's outfit and a witch hat - and a bowtie - and I didn't know about any of this until she was missing that night until 7am and told me she went to the hospital for a check up for a "cold." Someone came by with the bowtie and hat and asked me to give it to her. We started calling her the "wiz" because of the wizard hat as a joke. She would leave the apartment to drink and eat vending machine food first thing in the morning and come back smelling of vomit.

The last straw was when she left the apartment a mess. Threw up an entire box of pasta in the bathtub and left a mess on the counter. I was cleaning and accidentally leaned against the counter that I wiped with clorox clean up and ruined a juicy outfit that I was wearing from the bleach. Then she found a boyfriend who started staying over ALL the time (one bedroom). Fortunately, my BF lived down the street in a townhouse so I was able to stay there. We no longer speak.

OMG some of these stories are HORRIBLE...
I don't know HOW you guys did it!!
...and I thought mine was bad HAHA!

I'm 19 and my FIRST roommate experience... was of course when I entered college. I lived in a triple in this TINY room and at first I didn't mind at all. I mean... I was in college ... FINALLY lol
But little did I know that one of my roommates was... psychotic.
She was the same age as me (18 then) and she was engaged! I guess that's like.. normal for some people and not very shocking but I come from a conservative family and a pretty conservative town, so when I heard that she had a fiance, I was sort of shocked. Her fiance went to UCR (University of California, Riverside) which is a good hour away from our school WITHOUT traffic... and knowing LA, there is ALWAYS traffic.
So... he stayed over EVERY single night...
and mind you, this is a triple.. there's two bunk beds (one bunk bed and another bunk bed where the desk is at the bottom and the bed is at the top). So it was SUPER crowded in the room...
He stayed over every night for TWO quarters!!!!!!! OMG...
And what bothered me more was when I was folding laundry (aka my underwear lol) because the room is so small if you turn around and walk one step it's like.. the other side of the room... so he would watch me fold my laundry.. my freaking underwear! It was so disturbing and awkward!
and the list goes on and on...
Oh... that just ruined my first year of college.. it was quite sad.

I've had a super slob roommate.. like an awful, awful slob. We didn't have the food issues because we just did groceries together from a house account, but this girl didn't know the concept of *clean* !

She would never do dishes, and had a hard time emptying the cat's litter bin (this was our cat and we took turns !). She always was surrounded by an assortment of used glasses, and we found that if we waned to have a drink we'd have to empty her room since she never removed them. My favourite incident of this was the discovery of the "mold cup", which was actually 2 glasses stacked together with a coke can rammed in there too for good measure. Yes, these glasses were clear and you could see the development of the mold between the can and the glasses (barf).

She did her laundry once a month (and it was loads and loads) since she'd just wear everything until she had nothing she could wear (and then proceed to leave it in the her room.. it smelled awful and I had a room across from her).

Once she demanded I come home because she couldn't find something (RAM actually, she was addicted to online gaming and was trying to upgrade a system) and I found her walking out the washroom with her laptop - yes, she was using it in the washroom !!! And from the smells of things, it was for a good long period of time too.

She eventually stopped going to class, and would go to bed when we woke up, and would wake up when we came back from classes. She had actually failed first year in her major, and changed majors and still failed her first year in another major. It wasn't like she was stupid.. just inspiredly lazy.

Argh, ever since that.. I will only live with my one roommate who understands the concept of clean, chores and cooking (the cooking part was the best!).

ahhh yeah. I lived with a guy who was awesome for the first half of our lease. Then he started doing drugs with some lowlifes in our neighborhood and lost his job, would stay up all night having mini-raves in our living room with these scumbags when I had to be up at 6AM. Then he became a male prostitute and was quite proud of it. One day I came home from work and my stereo and VCR were missing. I moved out at the end of the month.

I also had a roomate that I met through a roommate finder service when I had to relocate suddenly for a job. He was also a male (but straight). He became freakishly posessive and weird to the point where I was afraid to come out of my room when he was there. He would get snappy if I had a date pick me up and always wanted to know where I'd been when I came home late. fuh-reak. He yelled at me on the day I moved out in front of the movers and my friend, asking how I was going to sleep at night "leaving him like that".

Oh my gosh., I almost forgot the drunk!!! I lived with a really nice guy for 2 years, he never bothered me at all but he had a friend who was kicked out of his place come and live with us for a while. There were many odd events (him taking off the kitchen screen to get into the apartment....when he had a key to the door, for instance) His last night with us was when he got drunk and blacked out and pee'd in the corner of our living room because he thought it was the bathroom. Somehow I slept through the incident AND my roomate cleaning it up. I only heard about it when I woke up. thank god.

Omg these are horrible situations. My one situation was no where near as awful as these. I hate my old roommate but atleast she was clean, lol. But she did screw us over in other ways. I shall share later.

I had the most awesome roommate the fall semester of my freshman year! We filled out one of those personality things and got matched up.

We had so much fun together and if I did something to annoy her, she'd tell me, I'd apologize and stop doing it.

She left after the fall semester so I had the room to myself the spring semester.

I had two roommates my sophomore year. They would have been really nice people but we just did not work as roommates. I don't know HOW we got matched together, but we did. I think they drew our names out of a hat or something. It was that random.

The first one was in the fall. We went about our lives and instead of telling me what I did bothered her, she'd trash me on AIM (which I could totally see because it was a blue screen with white text). Two months into our living together she handed me this five page letter which was essentially a list of grievences beginning with the sentence, "I can't get along with you."

Some of them were important, when you get out of the shower, switch the setting back to bath, for example. But when it's mixed with things that seem really trivial, stop asking me questions about the show and just pay attention, (whatever happened to a simple "shh!" during the show?) it made the entire list seem trivial.

In the spring semester I lived with someone who would get frequent migranes. The lights were off and the blinds were closed all day. She went to bed really early and it seemed like I had to walk on eggshells around her. If I was on the computer while she was asleep I was being loud. If I read in the bathroom, I'd be keeping her up.

Like I said, I'm sure both of them are very nice people, but they shouldn't have had roommates.
