WOW!
I've got some good ones. My first roommate went into my underwear drawer and bought the exact same ones so we would match! She would continually hit on my boyfriend (my DH now!) and would log into my AOL (I know shared passwords are not good) and hog my computer! I thought I was being nice and open her her own AOL account but back in the day when you are signed on you cannot sign on to another account to check mail. I spent 2 days trying to log into my account from the computer lab instead of my own room. Last straw was when she asked if I could drive her from CA to CO to meet an online buddy. The next semester I got a cool roommate that was rarely in the room. Upon graduation, I moved in with an aquaintance. She had to compare everything. Purses ( why would your dad buy you a $595 gucci bag?. I dunno he loves me. I have my eye on a Gucci bag but its $750... I am going to buy it tomorrow ).Roomie: Oooh my dad bought me a new car, are you still in your old one? When are they going to buy you one? Me: Umm they won't. Mine still works. Roomie: Oh that's too bad. I'm getting a new Mitsubishi Galant with all the works. So the final straw was when she hit on my BF best friend and he flat out said "I'm just dating her to see her boobies." I laughed so hard. After the third date, she would call him at all hours to check up on him. Finally she asked me what she should do because she said she had a soul connection with him and that they were going to get married (after the third date????). I told her to call him every half hour until he calls back. The next day she said "I can't get through to him. His voicemail is full!" |

Wow, some of you gals have had some horrible roommate experiences. I was going to post mine but now my old roommates look like angels. LOL.
Luckily I now have the greatest roommate, my DH. |

I can't believe how many freaks there are! some of you had really insane roommates.
I had one floormate that especially liked to flirt with my then bf (any guy that's taken will do, but I think she felt a need to be better than me), she'd do anything to get his attention, getting touchy feely in front of me (while watching my reactions and playing innocent after), sneaking playgirl magazines under his pillow ("as a joke, of course"), pretending her phone won't work so she can go through his room alone (but refused to ask for anyone else's phone), it went on literally every day. And to think I befriended her only cuz I felt sorry for her for eating alone all the time. She didn't do any of her chores, didn't wash her dishes, which she felt no need to do (her reasoning was that I was already doing everyone else's dishes so why not hers too) when I confronted her, then denied and blamed me after other people showed up. She also started using my unit's washroom and shower cuz her unit's got so disgusting since she refuses to clean it (which left the other girls in her unit thinking "what's the point of us cleaning it"). I had weird a roommate (and his gf), but they're still friends of mine. He kept breaking other people's stuff and not telling us about it until we're frantically trying to find said items, then he'd try to glue things back together if possible so that it looks like we broke it when we use it. Clogged the toilet and didn't tell anyone, then tried to blame others when the entire apt was flooded. He had people over at all hours in the night for meetings. I agreed to wash dishes if he cooked and he would proceed to use every single pot and pan in the entire house, without soaking anything. His gf once cooked something in the microwave by cooking for 10 seconds at a time for half an hour at 1am (door open, clanging of dishes, door close, microwave on for 10 sec, long loud beep, door open, ... rinse and repeat - this was an old and noisy 90's microwave). Oh and I had a neighbor in first year that liked to come into my room to chat with everyone, then fart on my bed and leave. |

WOW, for a minute there I had to check where all of you lived to see if my ex roomate was living with you!!
My old roomate was a friend of mine that I worked with, at first she was reallly fun to hang with than after she moved in, she became a little psycho! 1. she was one of the girls who "stalked" her own boyfriend(whom also worked with us) it was insane.I would hear her on the phone all hours leaving message after message screaming and crying on the phone one time I even heard her throw herself against the wall and start slapping herself. My cats were freaked out about it than she would just get up in the middle of the night like 3am and go to his house. well the night she beat herself she went to his apt and the next day she told some people he beat her, im sorry I know its not funny but cuckoo, cuckoo! 2. she ALWAYS cut het toe nails while sitting on my couch and they would just go flying, gross and mentioning my brand new couch one day she spilled red wine on it and instead of telling me flipped over the cushion! I was pissed. 3. She never cleaned up after herself, and would ALWAYS block my car in so I would have to get out of my car, go back upstairs, get her keys, move her car, than bring the damn keys back up! so annoying not to mention I asked her atleast 100 times not to pull into the driveway! 4. She completely acted helpless, her parents lived about 35 mins away and would send her like 2 care packages a week, with the strangest stuff, asprin(go buy your own) and pedialite pops uhmm she was 24, strange! not to mention they had to pay me the rest of the money she owed me for bills! She also lied all the time, and would wear my clothes w/o asking then wash them, shrink them and the kicker fold them up in front off me and put them in HER closet! I couldnt take the drama and the mood swings anymore So I told her she had to leave!! 2 things though that pushed me over the edge were I dont color my hair and she did, well after coloring her hair one day I came home and there was hair dye on my comforter like she must have jumped on my bed to answer the phone or something and there was coloring on the carpet right infront of my drawers, I knew she had been in them and they weren't clothes drawers. And the straw that broke the camels back was I had to drive to NYC it's an 71/2 hour drive so I just had to go for the day I spent 15 hours in the car and when I came home the kitchen was distguisting and the toilet had a BIG steamer floating in it. I went beserk seriously I cant handle someone who doesn't flush it down and I sure did tell her that was a reason. Fast forward like 5yrs I heard she was working at a bank one of those ones that are in the grocery store well she befriended an old lady and would do her grocery shopping and took her for like $60,000 bucks out of her savings, she was arrested but didnt have to serve much time, it spread like wild fire and needless to say I wasnt surprised one bit! Sorry for the rant, she really drove me insane! |

I've never had a roommate, but one of my friends has had quite a few. The worst horror stories that come to mind are:
One guy he lived with brought home a girl late at night and proceeded to have VERY loud sex with her. My friend has a pretty healthy sex life too and is by no means a prude and isn't even an early riser, but we are talking 5 a.m. LOUD LOUD LOUD screaming almost like someone is being murdered in the next room. He was SOOOO mad about it that he got up the next morning and stayed in the bathroom FOREVER. He knew they'd have to go and he wouldn't come out. He just took a bath, read a book, whatever, until they both finally left. He had another roommate that he discovered had been looking at kiddie porn on his computer. Needless to say, that guy got kicked to the curb pretty quickly. |

Wow, this stuff puts my roommate issues to shame!
The worst I can think of is one of my housemates had a boyfriend who would stay over every single damn weekend. I wouldn't have minded if she kept him in her own room (which was shared with another girl), but she & her BF slept in our living room. I assume that was out of respect for her roommate, but it was not fair for me and our other housemate who needed to use the kitchen late at night. Her BF even had the nerve to complain that we were being loud one night, when all we were trying to do was make some food in the place we were paying to live in! This same housemate also came to me in the middle of the year and said how her parents were having financial trouble, so I should have my share of the rent increased since "my parents are rich".

I am so extraordinarily glad that I have never lived with room mates. Who raises their children to act like this??

Not my story but it happened to my cousin when she was going to UCLA. She shared an apartment with 3 friends and after a while articles of clothing started disappearing from the room she shared with another girl.So they all assumed it was the one girl they didn't know as well until one day my cousin went into her room to see a squirrel escaping out the window with a pair of her underwear!!!!!!!!
Since they were on the second floor they left the window to their room open all of the time cause it was hot. They didn't realize it was next to a tree that had squirrels in it. Mama squirrels babies got to sleep on silk panties.

I've had a couple of bad roommates! The worst was in my final term at university - a girl I lived with would ALWAYs 'forget' to flush the toilet after taking a #2. It was soooo gross! This happened on 4 separate occasions. She would also leave bloody tissue hanging out of the garbage. I finally moved out after a month because I coudn't stand to live with her!
Dirty bathrooms are my pet peeve!! |
