I just found out today that my grandma had a heart attack recently. She is a headstrong woman who raised her kids on her own. She did not tell anyone about the heart attack or the difficulty breathng and not being able to feel on the left side but my aunt noticed and took her unwillingly to a clinic. They could not find a pulse and sent her immediately to the hospital. They found she had suffered a heart attack and did surgery to clear the arteries. Unfortunately they could only fix one of several blocked arteries. Bypass surgery was not an option due to her being so old and weak. During surgery she suffered a stroke and now she is in a coma. Some of her kids are with her now and the rest (my aunts and uncle) are going up this weekend to find out the prognosis. I am sad but in front of the kids I act as if it will be fine. Inside I am scared. I just lost one grandmother a few years ago. Please send well-wishes and prayers her way.

Thanks guys, I may take you all up on that offer. Luckily the babies are almost ready for their nap. Good because mentally I am exhausted from letting it all out. Somene said maybe the prognosis meant bad news because everyone's going up. It pissed me off because I want to think of prognosis as the possiblity of her getting better and more treatments. Too much thinking, I'm going to nap before the older kids get off school.

disney , my grandmother is also currently in intensive care at the hospital so I know how tough things must be for you right now.

it's giving me comfort to think that no matter what happens, my grandmother had a wonderful life, and has lived long enough to meet all her grandchildren. in your case, there are even great-grandchildren!!

don't worry about staying tough either, it's ok to be sad. i'll be thinking about you, i'm hoping for peace for you
