I agree that perhaps you should wait until you move out to get the surgery. That way you won't have to deal with your parents constantly voicing their disapproval. You shouldn't waste your time or energy trying to convince anyone that plastic surgery is the right choice for you. You're an adult and it doesn't really matter what anyone thinks about such a personal decision.

My best friend knows about the whole situation and tells me that if they love me and want the best for me, they would be supportive no matter how much they disagreed with it.
I think statements like these are really unfair to parents out there. Of course your parents love you and care about you - but this does not mean that they will or have to support every decision that you make. You are an adult and are old enough to make your own decisions. You don't have to ask mom and dad if it's okay, but I do think it's good that you talked to them about it - even if they didn't share your opinion. Speaking as a mother I would also be upset if one of my children later on down the road decided to do plastic surgery on their face. Evey parent thinks that their child is beautiful just the way they are and wouldn't change anything about that beautiful little face in the world.

Have you had any type of surgery before? They may also be scared of that - the actual surgery. Surgery is scary for any parent because of the risks involved. They are going to want to do everything they can to keep you safe!

Either way, you're old enough to make your own decisions. Be sure to think hard about the pros and cons of this surgery. Will it leave scaring? Will whatever condition you have come back?
