I see a lot of posts here about woman worrying about getting married, has it been too long, is the wedding perfect? About 10 years ago I had been dating a guy for a little over 6 months. He took me to Rome, proposed in a romantic restaurant with a big ring and wanted to have a huge hotel wedding. I was anxious the whole time and luckily called off the engagement. He went on to marry someone else about a year later.

This time around my bf and I were just talking in our pj's and together realized we both wanted this. I picked out a ring (which I won't be able to wear until next summer) that is more modest, but exactly what I want. I feel so much calmer and happier than I did 10 years ago. It may not be the stereotypical "perfect proposal or wedding," but it is perfect for me.

I love secret weddings!!! I think running off and getting married like that is soooo romantic!! I used to be all about weddings - but have changed so much in that way. Many congrats!!!!
