Talking ~~~ Most Common Terms Of Endearment ~~~

What do you call your SO?

If you don't have one, how about your friends, family or even strangers?

Which term of endearment do you use most often?

I've been with hubby so long I can't remember the last time I called him by his first name. It's always "Babe, Sweetheart, Baby ... butthead (just kidding!)"

Seriously though ... which do you use?

His for me is baby poos, which if I think about it literally, makes me wonder if it's really a term of endearment...

My DH is "sweetie", but for my pets I use about a hundred other words of love.

I usually call him Babe. He calls me Sweetie, Sexy, Baby, Babe, Sweetheart, and other names I can't post here The only time I hear him actually say my name is when he's mad or VERY serious.

We both use baby a lot.

I call our dogs "puppy" or "furball" or "good boy" or other endearing things. OK, and I call one of them "beastley" and the other "fleabag" sometimes (always in a nice way).

I never refer to other people (girlfriends, random people in a store, etc) with endearing names. It makes me crazy when people I don't know or don't know well do that. I don't mind so much when men do it, but I hate when a woman on the phone or a sales associate calls me honey or sweetie or something like that. Ugh. Sickening.

I use babe mostly. When I don't know someone's name, I call them sweetie.

I know what you mean! It doesn't really bother me if they're just being nice but if it's said in a really patronizing tone like, "Sweetie, let me tell you again.." then it makes me want to give them a mean look. And I'm not the type of person who shoots strangers mean looks either LOL. Darling is the one that gets to me most. Especially when men say that to me. Or babe/baby. I can't stand a random guy calling me that. I'm not your baby, now please leave me alone.

After almost 30 years together ... he calls me Babe, Precious and My Lovely. I call him Mr. Cute Stuff and You Boy. We both say Sweetie and Darling, and we do the double-up thing, as in Sweetie-weetie, Precious-wecious, Darling-warling.

I dunno why I'm laughing, it just strikes me as funny ... maybe I'm just really happy to think, hey, 30 years and we've still got it. When you're young you hope you'll have a happy marriage, but it's not until you get this far that you realize you've actually made it this far ... you've achieved your dream, 30 years and the endearments are still going strong. It's such a great feeling.
