Can we have some examples of what is and isn't appropriate to discuss? I mean, I'm pretty open-minded so perhaps a lot of stuff doesn't bother me. Maybe it would be a good idea to have an adults-only subforum or something? I've always considered this to be more of an adult forum, and of course I don't have a problem with young teens being on tPF, but sometimes people want/need to discuss things that are a bit, um, not safe for younger people? haha, sorry, not sure how to word that one. But it can be hard to discuss these things in real life, because you won't always find people you can talk to openly about sex and stuff.

I agree wordbox...Some words are kind of borderline and you don't know if it would be appropriate to say. It may offend/shock some, but for others it's no big deal!

I think that most things need not be off-limit to discuss, but I feel people should be more careful with their words. For example, making use of allegory and more palatable synonyms instead of speaking so plainly.

I'm no prude, but I feel that some language is best kept off of a public board. I, for one, feel uncomfortable using such language with strangers on a public board, although I have no problem speaking in such a manner with my sister, f.e.!

Basically it should just be kept clean you know what I mean? Use your best judgement. Its not a sex forum anyway, so if its a hardcore sex topic I would say take it to a sex forum. I know sex is part of a relationship but Im not sure that was the idea behind opening this forum. So, as I said just be aware, and keep it clean! lol...if something is not above board it will get edited. No biggy.

I think if you think about it, it's easy to decide what is or is not appropriate.
I mean, don't say things here you wouldn't in front of your own child, little sister/brother, 6th grade class. . .

^ i've always thought of this as more of an adult forum, too. i think as long as loads of profanity or talking about unsafe sex, etc. doesn't happen, talking about sex and using the ACTUAL words should be allowed. by 13, i had been taught what sex is, the male and female anatomy, etc. let's not start calling calling sex "doing it". we're not here to parent.
