I manage to cook and be on the phone at the same time, so multi tasking isnt an issue (and im a guy, you gals are supposed to be better at it anyway
)And I don't really get people not being fans of the phone Texting - Takes too long to type stuff out MSN - conversations end up just being "lol" "lol" E-Mail - sooooo long Letters - lol. But yeah, as you can see, I think phones are the most efficent way of having a conversation ! (I hate it when I have friends that dont think so :P)

I am a phone hater. My DH is the phone talker. Pretty much he is the one to always call me. He doesn't feel bad because he knows I don't call anyone; family, friends, no one. I am very phonephobic.

Knee jerk reaction (not having read other posts): ABSOLUTE BS!! Didn't most of us talk on a phone at one point or other prior to getting up to speed on texting/email, etc? Hellooooo??

It depends on the person I am communicating with. I even canceled my home phone because I never use it. If I need to talk to someone, I just pick up the phone and call them. I don't particularly like texting. It takes too long...for me anyway. By the time I finish texting I could of dialed the persons number and had my answer already. On the other hand, I am a big IMer. Plus if you don't like what the person is saying, you could say you lost your connection. LOL

It depends on who you are referring to lol. For a guy, I think it can sometimes be BS, if its your friend-then its probably not! I absolutely HATE talking on the phone, but I text often.

omg, this subject alone irks the hell out of me!
i'm fairly quiet on the boards here but i can't keep quiet about this issue. NO NO NO! my ex used to use this excuse ALL the time -- and now he's my ex. communication is so so so important in a relationship and phone contact really touches base. my ex relied only on msn, i am ashamed to say i played that game for a year. let me tell you, i spent many nights upset over never hearing from him if i was unable to go online. i'm now with a boy who calls me every day. i guess my point is, if the love is real, the boy (or girl) will pick up the phone to hear your voice. |

I HATE talking on the phone. I much rather talk to my friends in person. Unless its my DH calling when he's away from home. Then we talk for hours.

Depends. SO hates to call unless it's super urgent or he wants to give a message....no snuggling on the phone with him!
Me on the other hand....I'm a veritable ShimmaPuff on the phone! |

I'm not a phone person but I love to email, text, or IM. It drives my friends nuts sometimes because they feel like they're always THE ones to call me.
If I'm in a relationship, I prefer face to face conversation but I'll settle for a nice 5 min "good night" chat prior to bed. |

i remember when i use to be able to talk on the phone for hours about nothing to people i see everyday (HIGH SCHOOL!) but nowadays, i really don't like talking much on the phone at all with exception of conversations w/ my bf. we talk for an hour or so every night and that's about enough for me.
although he may not like talking on the phone much, i think you guys can come to a compromise that leaves you both satisfied. i mean, you can't force someone to like talking on the phone but you also can't force yourself to be happy with how little he calls. just have a little talk w/ him about it. he's probably oblivious to the fact that you wished he called more. |

I DESPISE talking on the phone and use my cell only for texting or business/emergencies. I dont have a home phone and limit my cell phone plan to as few minutes as available because of it. I dont answer it if it rings and people often think I am just using it as an excuse. Honestly I HATE the phone. I'm not anti-social. I'll answer every text incoming, IM/email tons online and keep in contact with people that way, and am very outgoing- I just HATE the phone. lol
People who honestly hate the phone probably arent just feeding you a line- but those who talk on it non-stop then dont answer if you call are just liars and dont deserve your attention. I've met those types! |
