AUNT FRANKIE!!!!!!!!

My little brother (he's no.2, I'm no.1) has just had a baby!!! Well, his long-time gf has, but they've had a little girl named Isabella, and she is of course reportedly absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

This is gonna take some getting used to.. I mean.. AUNTIE FRANKIE?!!!!! Hhahaahhahhahahahhahahahaahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaahahaha!!!!!!!

Ah gee. I won't be able to meet her for awhile as they live in NZ and I'm here in the 'desert' (as Mum calls the outback) in Australia. I understand I will be supplied with many a baby photo though, probably several a day. First burp, first google, first fart, etc. Heh. I had a great time teasing Mum on the phone.. "Granny!!!"

Just being an Auntie makes me feel old, God knows how she feels! I've been telling her she'll have to get a brag bok now, and accost strangers on the bus with lengthy tales of her grandchild and of any given malady she's feeling that day! Poor Mum, she's 57 going on 37, fit as a Malley Bull, and "Granny" doesn't sit too well. Lucky for her she's too tickled pink at having her first grandkiddy to care!

Thank you! I've had a really crappy time lately.. work's been bad due to a horrid boss that we're currently going through mediationg with; I'm a Paramedic in a tiny town and we've been super busy lately, getting no sleep, and in the past week have attended two suicides, one a friend and a firefighter workmate; my dog Indi nearly died in front of me on the same day as my friend suicided, and my other dog nearly died a couple of weeks earlier; so, as you can imagine, this is some welcome good news!!

The funeral for our friend and colleague will be on Thursday and will be horrendously sad, so this is some really fantastic news for me to think of too on that sad day. I love her already, is that nuts? Can't wait to meet her, will have to start planning a trip back.

My condolences on the loss of your friend and co-worker. And I am glad your pups are okay.

Coungratulations. First rule to being AUNTIE Frankie: It is your duty to buy the baby the most loud annoying toys you can fine. She will love you for it and her parents will remember you each time she plays with them. My childrens 2 aunts (childless) have always gone out of their way to find such special toys for my kids. Even got some that you can't turn off till they finish their few minutes of noise. Of course these have always been the favorite toys to play with.
I am sorry to hear about your friend. One of my best friends commited suicide and I still feel great sorrow that she felt that was the answer to her pain. Hope you are able to get thru the week...... Glad to hear the dogs are OK.

Congrats to you! I recently became an auntie for the first time myself. (Well ok, 2 years ago.) I still can hardly believe it but I definitely won't have any other nieces & nephews anytime soon, as my other siblings are too young by my family's standards. (30 and up is the standard!)

Also I'm glad to hear your puppies are doing better.
