This is the English teacher in me coming through.

I'm so glad summer vacation is coming up in two days. I need two months just to recover from writing like this which unfortunately seems to now be the norm.

Really -- it's the norm? Students hand in papers like this? Is it truly a recent phenomenon? Sorry, I just feel so old.

I little OT, but if you're 17, you're going to have a lot of exams coming up next year where trouble with grammar and spelling is going to break you. AP exams, ACTs, obviously essays on school exams- it'll serve you well if you practice good writing and become more aware of what you're writing so it becomes natural to you. Texting's a whole other topic, because I'm too lazy to spell everything out there as well :)

I'm sorry; I really didn't intend for you to feel like I was beating up on you. I was really just curious to hear about her experience as a teacher.

That's a really good point. I honestly don't think I ever memorized the "rules;" the verbal portions of standardized tests were just second nature for me (unlike the math portion!).

Good grief:

- Please write in complete and not run-on sentences.
- Please don't let MySpace be your primary source of communicating with your dear friends. If she's that torqued, take her to lunch and explain. If she doesn't want to, that's her loss.
- Please use the spell check feature which is so kindly offered here even in the quick reply dialogue box.
- As was posted earlier, vowels are your friends. We're your buddies on the internet, not text recipients on your phone.
- If you want to succeed in university and professional life, your grammar (with an ar, not er) and spelling will need to improve drastically.

Sorry to be such a whiney baby about your post, but we all want to help eachother out here, and it's very difficult to read and then help without at least an attempt at some punctuation and vowels.

Umm everyone keeps asking you to use punctuation and proper words. Does it actually hurt when you hit a vowel key or what?

At least you're owning up to it and not freaking out at the world (the norm these days) - good on you. That said, there's a lot more learning to be done.
