Wow... looks yummy! Congrats on the proposal! Its dawn of a new era... where the women rule and the men erm... walk 2 steps behind!?!? Hahaha....

I'm happy that you changed your mind about marriage.... I feel exactly the same wasy as how you felt previously... i still do... even though I agreed to my bf's proposal.... and that was in 2006! He's still my fiance.. and we still haven't made plans to tie the knot officially... perhaps one day I will change my mind like you too... I think I have a fear of commitment......

pinkie looking at your signature I think you must be my twin!

Yeah women rule and men..hmm in my case I would probably put cook here. I am not much of a cook, but I am quite a good eater heheh

ITA about the fear of commitment ...heck with my previous boyfriends I wouldnt even buy an iron together! and with this one I am house hunting all relaxed In my case I think it was the wrong guys though and my gut was telling me not to get too involved.

I dont really NEED to get married KWIM? I told him we will only do it if he really wants it, it was more about letting him know that for him I would take this extra step, how much he means to me

Jeez, I'm gone for a week and look what happens .....

Congratulations!! Wonderful news Nat!!!

Isn't it funny how points of view can change with the right one. I'm pretty much right there with you on not needing to get married as I am 100% committed to my SO. BUT, and there's a but, I have the most gorgeous antique platinum setting wedding ring from my grandmother ... and lately it has been in my thoughts more and more. I really would love to wear it. lol

.... and don't be scared, it sounds to me like you're ready and it's the excitement of it all that is giving you butterflies. Look at it this way, a new chapter with the man you love, getting those fluttering butterflies again .... what could feel better.

Oh Nat that is so awesome, I'm so happy for you! It's so great to have that feeling that he's not just another boyfriend and you can do things like house hunt together and feel so good about it.

Congrats! I too was against marriage. I think the high divorce rate had just soured me to the institution of marriage and I thought the traditional vows were outdated and sexist. But I have been happily married for many years now - we just wrote our own vows and did things our way.

I loved that you proposed! You rock! Though, I think if I had proposed, I wouldn't have given an engagement ring. Maybe an engagement flatscreen.

I dont need a ring and official promise, since I choose every day to be with my SO and be with him no matter what anyway. Getting married is a bit like not having to make an effort any more. Blah blah blah. My poor SO knew better than propose, he even said bitterly once - I would propose, but i dont want to hear a no.

But he is so much more than a boyfriend to me, I dont want him to be just another SO of mine, a bit like next in the queue, if you know what I mean.

So what´s a girl who changed her mind got to do? I proposed to him this morning and he said Yes! I wish we could just do it tomorrow, but there aint no Vegas in Europe unfortunately.

Oh and there will be no pics of a ring, since I didnt get him one

Thought my gals here should know, whatever opinion or POV I have, apparently it can change, as illustrated in the story above
Congrats!
