How do you know if your close guy friend really likes you???

He looks at me but not at my eyes..
or he tries touching my arm, hugging when he shouldn't, to slowly get physical I guess?

I unfortunetly have very bad luck with even GETTING "close guy friends" or guy friends PERIOD. Somehow, every STRAIGHT guy I become friends with EVENTUALLY end up liking me (not a good thing) and here are the signs:

-flirting, such as "hey baby" or "hi sweetie"
-letting you know "i miss you" or "i love you"
-asking to hang out VERY OFTEN
-buying you things
-touching you around the hip and hugging REALLY LONG and REALLY TIGHT

there's more but that's a few.....

Finds excuses to spend time with you.
Draws out visits, hard to make him leave.
Spends money on you.
Looks at you with puppy dog eyes.

In my experience, I've found they usually are clear and would say, even "as a joke", "I really like you" or "I love you" when they can get away with it.

Other signs:
- gets grouchy or silent if you talk about other men.
- once you have a bf, they either disappear or asks everytime you talk if you're still going out with whatshisface (so annoying, dammit, he has a name!!!)
- uses opportunities to get closer to you. Once, I was trying to get away from a jerk, and my friend said to dance with him to keep the other guy away, so I did. I thought he was just shielding me from the evil evil world, til I found out he meant more.
- if he lives far away, asks often if you can come visit him, to pretend to be their gf or something crazy like that.

I'm with annaversary, it gets rather annoying and sad when all your guy friends do that and you end up with your best guy friends as your acquaintences at best because of this.

They try to talk or hang out with you as often as they can. Sometimes they get a little flustered when they talk to you.

Or when they are talking to you and looking at you, they tend to stare into your eyes a teeny bit longer than a normal friend would.

At least, that's in my experience.
