Moving out is not necessarily easy...

I empathise with the OP - in my country, rent is sky-high. People work 10 hours a day (not much time left to pick up a 2nd job) and to rent a place, plus having to pay our university loans will leave us dry at the end of every month.

And in my Asian culture, it is unheard of for us to move out until we are married. So, I understand why it's hard for the OP to move out.

Anyway, perhaps your parents thought you are having some sort of affair with your boss, and that is why he is lavishing such gifts on you. You can tell your parents that his WIFE helps him to pick out the gifts or tell your parents the gifts are from his wife.

Other than that, you should be happy to have such a generous boss!
