Default Father's Day Gifts

I know there was a thread like this for Mother's Day and I thought it might be helpful for those that are having trouble coming up with a gift or just wanted to share what they are doing for dad, grandpas and hubbies!

I'm getting my dad a Lowe's gift card. I was going to get him satellite radio for his car, but he said he really just wants to have credit to go to Lowe's whenever he wants. I'm going to bake him some cookies too.

FYI- if you a Sirius subscriber they had some specials that work for add on subscriptions.

For grandpa, I'm getting him a gift card to buy some books.

How about the rest of you?

This is my first Father's Day without my daddy and both my grandpas, every time I walk into the grocery store and see the card displays I get really upset... but I have my FIL still thank god.

We all kicked in to get him a really nice GPS for his car, he'd been wanting one but always said it was too useless to actually buy for himself so we got it for him

This is my first FD without my dad, too...

Last year I got this photo frame that held 3 photos, and I put in a picture of the two of us when I was a baby, then when I was about 10, then at my graduation (which, unfortunately, was the last picture ever taken of us together). Sadly, I was mad at him on FD and didn't actually give it to him, and now I'll never have the chance, so it's hanging on my wall. I still think it would've been a nice gift, though.

I'm getting my husband a coffee cup just like the one he got me for mothers day. When he gave the cup to me I glared at him and said "you'll pay for this". I received a much better gift the next day "out of fear" but he'll still get his coffee cup.

My dad loves a good steak and clients give him Ruth's Chris gift cards a lot, but he always takes me and my SO when we're in town, so I got him one and wrote on it, "Don't take us!!" Hopefully he'll take my stepmom out for a nice romantic dinner, just the two of them. My other idea was to get him a customized branding iron for barbequeing with his intials from redenvelope. Maybe next year.

My dad has a game room, so I got him a sign from personalizationmall.com that says "[Insert last name]'s Pub". It came yesterday, and it's really cool. I am so excited about it! The site even let me see what it would look like with my name on it before I ordered.

I am either going to get my dad an Under Armour polo shirt (he loves to play golf!) OR make a donation in his name to a local animal rescue.

And a card, of course! :)

My dad is getting his car detailed. Wash, wax, cleaning the carpets. We are also having a BBQ at noon. I always put some of those scratch lottery tickets in his card. He just loves those things!

My sister recently gave birth to a little girl and my parents are both in love/obsessed with her. They are all the way in the US though, so my dad doesn't get to see my niece at all. We visited her a few weeks ago and I took tons of pictures. I handpicked pictures out of the 200 some I took and developed the cutest/funniest ones, then I put them in a collage frame, as well as a single frame so my dad can always have his little granddaughter close by

Lottery tickets- great idea! My dad always buys them as well and is obsessed! I'll have to add some in his card.

OK so I sponsored a local rescue dog for a month for my Dad's Father's Day present.

The site, www.azrescue.org, is really cool b/c it lets you add a personalized message to the profile of the dog that you sponsored.

So I am going to print off the pic of the dog with the personalized message to my Dad and give it to him along with a card :)

Here in AZ the whole mortgage crisis is having a devastating result for a lot of family pets...our shelters are literally OVERFLOWING...like 200 + dogs and cats are having to be put to sleep EVERY DAY just in the COUNTY that I live in.

The rescue group that I donated to goes to the county pound and rescues dogs who are on the euthanasia lists and are literally hours away from death.

i'm very bad with gifts for my dad cause he's got everything he needs all the time! so giving cash is the best resort as he gets to spend it with his friends or just a little something that he love for himself in his own time..

My sister and I bought my dad several short-sleeve polo shirts. My dad is horrid fashion taste and we're definitely trying to improve his wardrobe.
