Default Everyone wants to do something for my birthday...Except ME!!!

Hi guys,

My birthday is coming up on Sunday (the 6th) and so far I've been asked by a ton of people what I'm planning on doing on my birthday and if I'll be having a party. I explaiend that I've got my first final exam the next day and that I'd rather celebrate my birthday after my last exam on the 21st of July.

Nobody seems to understand this!! They all say "You can't wait that long, you have to do something on your birthday!". I mean...I don't really care, it's not a "big" birthday (23) and I've got exam stress to worry about anyway! I feel awful if I don't spend as much time studying as I can, which isn't much in the first place because of my daughter.

I just keep getting so mad because it's basically the same people asking OVER AND OVER again!!! I finally snapped at my one friend and agreed to do something with her on Saturday just to appease her. I had the feeling that if I just didn't say yes she would have never stopped asking.

Sorry, just had to rant!

First of all happy early bday! Mine is the 8th
But you have to do what you have to do! Exams are very important and if you don't want to do anything, you want to wait, then do so, and let everyone know that FIRMLY. Tell them you're NOT doing anything until then. Good luck!

Thank you!

I will chill with my friend for a few hours on Saturday, I suppose I need some time away from the books myself, but after that - NOTHING!

Do not let your friends guilt you into doing something on your b-day. You can always celebrate later. I would keep my studies first. The final decision is up to you, only you know what is best for you. Happy Birthday

Happy birthday for the 6th!

Maybe you could meet up with some of your nearest & dearest for a 'birthday coffee' date?
See, if you do, it would be a perfect opportunity to nab a quick break from studying (which they wont know youve spent the whole day doing) AND, you'll be keeping them happy enough to tide them over until the real celebration after your exams!
That way, everybody's happy!

I know how you feel. Mine is also on 6th July and I really don't want to celebrate in any way. I'm on call as well and really can't be bothered with the whole thing.
