Default Do you ever....

Just get really annoyed with your SO and want time to yourself? I mean, not like days or weeks to yourself, but you know.... Am I nuts? I don't ever really go out with friends or anything anymore, and I'm thinking maybe I should do that more instead of spending every waking moment that I'm not at work with him. Maybe that's my deal.

Thoughts, anyone?

I admit to loving my time when my DH goes hunting or fishing. He is usually gone overnight and I can really unwind!! Everybody needs their "me" time!!

I tend to get annoyed with people in general. *snort*. I won't answer calls or texts, get in bed early and just read. I usually feel better the next morning after a good night sleep.

But yes - me time away from the BF is fabulous too - just like he appreciates his own me time too.

Everyone needs space sometimes even if you're not really annoyed with your SO.
It's completely normal. Go have a night out with your gal pals or spend the day with them lunch/shopping whatever you want - but it sounds like you need to do it soon!

I love having alone time with no husb/kids - not because they're annoying, just because
I need time alone to breathe. Nothing wrong with it at all & I bet my husb feels the same way.

I also don't go out much with friends anymore. I hang out with my SO pretty much ALL the time. I do tend to get annoyed with him and I'm sure he gets annoyed with me too at times. It's normal. Everyone needs space and needs to have that alone time every once in awhile.

It's normal to want your space..I usually go working out or running alone while he entertains himself by either watching tv or playing video games (most recently his new call of duty 4 game I just bought him)...gives me time to spend time with myself.

It's funny you started this thread cuz I was just thinking of this a few days ago while home for the holidays. It seemed my DH was constantly yapping (I mean talking) to me. I know I shouldn't complain but he's such a talker. It seemed like I would be on tpf reading a thread or about to post something and he would start talking. If it wasn't him it was my daughter. I was getting so aggravated. I sound terrible!! BUT I know myself and I definately need my alone time. All I need is about an hour and then I'm fine and will gladly talk, etc.

Absolutely!!! I need a little time to myself everyday; if I don't have that, then I'll go crazy.

Sarah, you're perfectly ok wanting time to yourself. Thank goodness I married a man who gives me space and I give him the same. Neither of us is offended if one wants to spend the day alone reading, at the beach, with friends, etc. both of us enjoy our own company. I'd go crazy if I was with him 24/7, and retirement is like that for some couples. Ugh!

Okay, so what should I do to get away for a few hours or whatever? I'm open to all kinds of suggestions. Most of my girlfriends are married with kids or whatever and inaccessible :( I'm one of the few unmarrieds left! I'm saving for Dallas (And I'm getting my Birkin and a new Speedy hopefully next month) so I can't do any heavy-duty shopping....

Hubby and I work from home together and are together 24/7. My sister and I try to go shopping and out for dinner every now and then and it is so much fun.......just girl talk. Hubby is good, he will take the kids to the movies or something so I can do a project around the house but it is nice to just get out of the house. I also have a hair night with my sis and SIL which usually includes dinner and then having our hair done and that night is one big laugh. I think if I had 24 hours alone I would miss my hubby and kids way too much.

belle, is a mini spa day an option for you? You can have a nice massage and your toes done, or even just take a book to a coffee shop and read.

My favorite is reading in bed with warm sheets and then taking a nap
