I love the new hardware, a bit more classy, IMO. I'm not a tassels type of girl.

I dont mind old hardware, but the thing is I like the new hardware better because it gives RM some sort of pizzazz if that makes any sense.

Ducks head, I'm actually not a fan of the stud clutch though, I think all the RMs on that are a little overkill. I would prefer that without the logo.

I like the new hardware. It holds up a LOT better than the old hardware and I also think it's cute. There is definitely a difference in quality. All of my RM bags with old hardware have had some kind of issue (small ones, like minor tarnishing, but issues nonetheless). No issue with any of the new hardware yet. I think the color of the gold can be a little bright and blingy at times but I am sure she will refine this in the future. I also think bright gold hardware looks good on some bags, like the Night with Gold Crackle.
It would be great to see the same hardware as the new hardware but in a more understated color and/or a smaller size. The new hardware in silver (but a muted silver) would be my ideal! |

I like the newer hardware better on the majority of bags. I like that it gives the handles a bit of a longer drop as well. I do like the old hardware on some bags more though. I love the old hardware on my stonewash blue mam. It wouldn't look as good sans tassles I don't think.

I actually prefer the light gold of the new hardware. I would love silver new hardware too. I actually dislike the tassels and I have almost not bought bags (like my old-style BBW MAB and glazed espresso matinee) because they have tassels on them. But obviously the tassels were not a deal-breaker.
I think that the newer hardware holds up better and gives the bags even more of a subtle sophistication. |

I prefer the new hardware... though I wish RM would switch to silver!

I like the old hardware on everything. It looks more "indy" to me. I don't know I just love it.

I prefer the old hardware. I love vintage looking bags anyway so the old hardware compliments the soft plush leather to me better, especially when it breaks in and starts to drape and slouch - it just all works. I like that its a dulled down gold/brass not a bright yellow gold. So both the hardware and the leather age together.
I don't like the high shine box shaped new hardware and the engraving on it and the engraved shiny studs as well. I agree also about the equestrian feel of the old hardware too. Another great plus. |

I mostly like the old hardware, but I think the new one looks really good on more matte colors. I love the new hardware on my Jade MAM - gives it an extra special something.

i have both (nikki and matinee with the NEW hardware and a MAB with the OLD hardware). I prefer the OLD....i like both though. but i just feel like the old is more subtle and less flashy, plus i love the tassles a LOT.. it clanks a lot though, the new doesn't make as much sound. but i love both....any RM and i am happy!

I wonder if people's preferences have anything to do with the time the got their RM or the type of HW that was on their first RM - you know kinda like a baby will like the look of its mom's face because its the first thing that its used to seeing? I think to some extent its true for me - new HW wasn't around when I got my first RM so thats why for the most part I still prefer the old HW and colors/leathers....just a crazy thought!
