When would the phone/email orders begin...the same time as the Purse Forum special preview night, or would it be before?

Thanks!!

I know that my biggest problem when ordering quickly is that I often can't make a decision about what I want. So having an idea of what might be available might be good and a rough estimate of prices might help people create their lists of preferences.
It might be too labor intensive, but maybe some sort of lottery system that determines the order in which people can order, so the stress of calling repeatedly, refreshing websites, etc is eliminated. Also maybe an order cap so that more people get a chance.
I also think that a lot of the impatience should or could be eliminated with really explicit communication, such as, once you have received your purchase confirmation, it will take up to three weeks for your item to ship. We will contact you if there is any problems, otherwise, expect your delivery within a week of receiving a shipping confirmation or whatever the case may be. I think the majority of the impatience came from the uncertainty of whether people were getting want they wanted and the desire for instant gratification. Regardless, those of us that are geographically challenged will be very patient.
I think that is a FABULOUS idea!

And now that we know the situation ahead of time we can prepare to be patient while we wait for our bags and/or try to get thru via email or phone or however she decides to do it.

These are really good ideas and it would be great if she could do them so I am all for it! but also wanted to say that even if they are not feasible on their and, I am up for ordering however works, as long as I can get a fabulous bag at a discounted price!
I totally agree that putting a sample sale is a logistical nightmare, especially given the multiple dimensions of it. I also think that having a solid plan that makes it easier for customers to get what they want and allows people to accurately manage their expectations (availability of colors/styles, ship time, etc) will only help in taking the amazing amount stress that must be put on Rebecca's staff during events like these. The better informed people are, the lower probability that they'll have anything to complain about. It doesn't even necessarily have to be anything formal on Rebecca's part. For example, if ordering was exactly like before where it was first come first we could do something on our end. Like a thread with what you ordered so people have a rough estimate of what might be available and at what cost. If she were able to give prices (or a range), styles and colors that might be available or even that appx. X number of dream bags will be available we could approximate the availability of items.
I mean at the end of the day if even no changes are made to the sample sale procedure, I'll be frantically calling in just like everyone else on here.
ok back to finals, sigh...

Wow what great ideas. I know this was mentioned, but maybe a 2 bag limit so everyone gets a chance (again as mentioned so someone doesn't snatch them all up and sell them on eBay ): )

I have a quick question for you Rebecca when you get a chance. What leather cleaner / protector do you recommend for your bags? I am super excited for the sale also and promise to be on my best behavior. Thanks again

I was not able to get a RM during the last Sample Sale. How about a 2 purse limit so that everyone gets a chance to purchase during the sale.

Rebecca,

I'm new to your bags but not to TPF and it's great that you're so in touch with your customers.

I'm looking forward to the sample sale. I also wanted to comment that I think it's so great that you manufacture your bags here in the USA with such beautiful materials. Your bags are truly lovely.

Thanks!
