That must have been one nasty pimple to get MRSA in it. I think most people are fine and won't get it, because you can only get it from direct contact from a contaminated item or if someone else has an infected sore and you come in contact with them like if it's on their hand and you touch them. It must have been a serious infection to need the IV antibiotics.

Yeah there is a whole thread in the ebay forum about how much of a market there is for used shoes....check it out!

I'm a size 9 too...it seems to be a really popular size actually. It's always hard to find a popular shoe style because the 9's sell out quickly!

Right....I also read that some people are 'carriers' and can pass it around. Popping a normal pimple won't give you mrsa. But like I said before, cleanliness helps- just use rubbing alcohol and I doubt there will be a problem.

The infected area on my DD's face was extremely deep hence the hospital stay. Then the infection just took on a life of it's own and grew worse as the days wore on..... MRSA is resistance to most antibiotics so unfortunately the drug she needed could only be given intravenously. - vancomycin.

But as you say you must come into contact with the bacteria at some point.
My DD was in a dance company at the time and I'm sure that bacteria was floating around her dance studio at all times. She had one other outbreak but not as serious & her sister had two minor outbreaks as well.

My brother is an infectious disease dr. and according to him - cleanliness is not an issue. It's simply a matter of contact.

Sorry to go on about MRSA - It was a pretty stressful & eventful 4 months & we never throught such a dangerous bacteria would appear in out home but it did.

Oh and about selling shoes. - I've had good luck selling mine on e-bay. Course you don't get what you want for them I've found that there is always that one buyer that finds they can wear your size and that you have great shoes and will buy them all up.

Baghag - I can SOO relate to the single brother thing!! I have 4 brothers and one of them can not stay married to save his life!!!! I swear he is looking for Ms. Perfect -
I keep telling him - You gotta WORK at it!! Hope he drank a lot and sleep in the backseat all the way home!!

Okay, so back from the wedding. . . brother talks to a 75 year old married woman at our table today who wants to fix him up with her daughter. When my brother left the table, she kept telling me how wonderful my brother was (eww). The next thing I know those two partake in a slow dance (eww x 2). Anyways, I'm driving bro back home. He tells me all about this woman's daughter. Jokingly, I told him that I think "grandma" had a little crush on him. . . my brother's response. . . she's married!! Not. . . I'm 52 and SHE'S 75!! (Eww x 3). I exploded "YOU WOULD SLEEP WITH A 75 YEAR OLD WOMAN because being married was the only problem!?" He responds "well, she did rub her boobies up against me when we were dancing!" I LITERALLY VOMITED A LITTLE IN MY MOUTH!

I hate family . . .
