So I was at american apparel at the short hills mall in NJ today and I was buying a pair of leggings and when I went to pay the SA was like omg I love your bag where's it from? (I was wearing my navy croc mac

) I was soooo happy and excited because I love my bag but its fun when someone else appreciates it!!!

i know the feeling! my dad of all people was very complimentary of my mustard croc mn today. i like when guys show appreciation for purses.

also, unrelated - did they ever make a burgundy mini nikki? i did a search but found contradictory answers. i would totally love one!

Oh gosh, ladies. I need some emotional support here!
Sorry in advance: this is a looong one!
Today when I was doing some yardwork, a wonderful sweet geriatric-looking female black lab mix made her way up to my house and hung out with me around 2 PM. I live 2 houses off a main road here in the city of Atlanta, and of course I was NOT going to let her just wander around, risking getting smacked! She has on a collar, but has no ID tags. She just hung out with me in the front yard til I finished the yard work about an hour later. She is obviously well taken care of, has freshly cut nail and has not missed a meal! LOL! She is so friendly and docile.
So, what do I do then?
I put her in my back yard (fenced), took photos of her and emailed them to the neighborhood association, who then in turn does a mass email for surrounding areas about her. I put her on a leash & walked her up and down the streets and asked everyone I passed if they recognized her. "No". I made flyers stapling them to poles around the area.
Well, now it is dark outside, she is in my backyard and barking non-stop. My DH is sooo annoyed with me. What was I supposed to do??? I have two little Bostons that are so worked up because of this big dog in my backyard. Neighbors are calling complaining about the non-stop barking....
I made a few more calls, and just did what I consider to be the unthinkable: called animal control. They said they cannot come until SUNDAY AFTERNOON at the very least because it is the weekend and is not considered an emergency!
I can't keep this barking dog in my yard all night long!
Why is no one calling about their lost dog???
oh, I am so upset!

Oh, Tara! I am SO sorry! My heart goes out to you and the poor doggie that is obviously loved very much. I wish I had a great answer but I am just beside myself trying to think of something for you to do, that makes you feel good about the outcome. Maybe this evening when someone's dog doesn't come home, they'll start looking around the neighborhood and see your phone number. Oh, I can just imagine what Stella and Cooper think! Have they gone outside to potty while they have a visitor? Do they interact ok?

It is unbelieveable, I have called animal control, the humane society, 24-hour emergency vets, and NO ONE can help me. When I called animal control, one lady on the phone actually said "I don't really care what you do with that dog!" Nice! My DH is so mad at me! This dog is barking non-stop!
....!!!

I am an animal lover too... You are such an angel for doing everything you have done so far! At this point I am unsure of what you can do... I know this sounds awful but maybe you should have just let her go on her merry way..Maybe she just went out for a stroll and now just wants to go home... Or you possibly saved her life by taking her in.. Please keep us filled in....

Oh, I forgot to mention that! One of the first things I did after our long walk was take her to the vet close to my house and they "scanned" her but she didn't have one. (I am so glad both of my BT's have microchips!!)
It was a horrible day.....

Cooper--I hear you! I got Alex microchipped when he went in for neutering. Best money I ever spent. . .I just can't imagine having a dog without one.

How's the pup today? Did she bark herself to sleep last night?

Jenny--Stoneridge Mall was BUSY!!!!! Man, oh, man! I couldn't believe how many people were out last night!! Nothing too much new at the mall. I had to laugh though. . . Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs have valet parking. . . at a MALL!! Look around people. . . there are plenty of places to park!!! LOL! Downtown Walnut Creek. . .yeah, I can understand that!!

I'm sorry Florida isn't what you thought it would be. Any chance of coming back to the Bay Area??

And no, I haven't been a good girl since you've been gone. . . I've probably bought like 10 bags or so. . . But I'm getting better!!!

I didn't like FL too much either, but still like to visit. Living there is another story. Most of the population is So. FL lives somewhere else anyway!

I'm going to vent a minute!

OK...so it's my B-day and my DD's are home and my parents were on their way over....

This bully COP justs showed up my door...
I live in a cul-de-sac - everyone here loves each other - we do things for each other...except one couple - she hates everyone - no kids...
Anyway - this "loner" couple called the police because my DD parked in front of her house!!! (in a cul-de-sac -PUBLIC street) and told the cops that I keep putting my trash can in front of her house- which I don't - I guess the trash people do.

This officer all hunched up and trying to look BIG came to my house to TALK to me about my trash cans - said my poor pitiful neighbor does not feel like she can approach me herself. on my freaking B-day. I'm am so NOT a hateful person but I was so mean to that cop. I told him that the only reason he was giving this "COMPLAINT" the time of day was because the girl is young, cute, and outside in shorty shorts flirting with him. Then I told him that she is actually not allowed in anyone's yard because when my neighbor was sick and dying 6 months ago all she did was call the police on the hospice workers and care givers that PARKED IN FRONT OF HER HOUSE!!!! This lady is anal about trash cans and cars!! ....thought she could get some big, bad cop to come lecture me -
