Oh mum.. . how funny you say "stress-free" summer, it's actually only a 2 week break because I am taking the summer quarter classes but I will not be having a stress-free break, it will actually be REALLY stressful, again I will post why in a bit.

Tofu Bob got into an accident today

I was on my way to pick up my little sister from volleyball practice and out of no where this girl who is 4 years older than me driving a brand new Honda Accord hit me out of no where. I've heard people say that when you get hit you seriously are in shock, I now know what that feeling is like.

^The bish that hit Tofu Bob! We were both coming from the way her car is facing. You can also see the mini street on the right side of the photo, where she attempted to make this "ILLEGAL "U" TURN.

So here's what happened, I was following this car actually, we're both going straight, she's signaling LEFT and she makes a right. Well, I continue to go (I was about 2 cars away from her) after I see her turning into the right mini street, as I drive RIGHT ONTO THE INTERSECTION OF THE STREET I WAS ON AND THE MINI STREET SHE SLAMS INTO ME!

I first sat in my car.. . not realizing I jsut got hit. Then I walked outside mad but after looking at Tofu Bob's damage, I began cursing. (I know, but I couldn't help it.)

Here's what made me even more furious and wanted to curse AT HER DIRECTLY (but didn't of course), she didn't bother asking me if I was okay and instead she said "you hit me!" ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!?! She even claimed it was a "one way street". So I asked, "did you learn to drive yesterday?".

I know.. . good thing is atleast I am okay (though my left knee has a huge bruise) but just knowing that it was Tofu Bob's 1st birthday (my parents got me it as a high school graduation gift) it just hurts.. . I try to keep ALL MY POSSESSIONS in 100% great condition.. . even a little scratch hurts me so you can imagine what it was like for me to experience this accident, sigh.

So here's to my "summer break" of taking care of Tofu Bob.. .

OMG anna! I'm glad you're alright! That's traumatizing! Did the police show up to do a report? The other driver is at fault so hopefully her insurance will pay for Tofu Bob's surgery. Awwwww, sorry that happened to you.

Yup! I indeed did!!!!~

I wrote down EVERYTHING, took pictures, called police, and asked where her car was going to be when they the towing guys came as well. NO RUNNING AWAY FROM ME AND TOFU BOB

The police took FOREVER though. about 40 mins and when they got here the LADY suggsted that a police report wasn't necessary?!?!?!

Anna that SUCKS! I'M so sorry!! At least you are OK, Tofu Bob can be fixed. I'm glad you waited for the cops. I used to work as an accident investigator/liability and claims examiner in another life. Let me know if you need any help when you deal with the insurance crap.

p.s. - looking at your point of impact (fancy insurance lingo!) its clear to me that idiot hit you!!!

Hi everyone,I've been M.I.A for the past month or so and have really missed being on the rm subforum. I've been super busy completing my assignments for my honours studies (if you'd like to have a look, it's theethree.wordpress.com ) and it's the major group research project for first semester. I was so relieved after handing it in I went crazy and bought some RM gear (shall post soon) but still had an individual project to complete,hope everyones well,I have LOTs Of threads to catch up on... And I start winter term next Monday :(

ETA: has tpf Been updated or is my iPhone playing tricks on me?

amandasf and I were thinking about a DC area Minkette meet soon....is there anyone interested? I don't want to post in the general meet-up thread, only because I think it would be fun to just have a Minkette-focused one. She proposed meeting at the Cosi in Dupont Circle. Would Saturdays or Sundays work better for you folks?

Thanks tx, i feel like a complete n00b right now cos i haven't been on tpf AT ALL for the past 6 weeks. i unwillingly banned myself completely/ did not have a spare second to browse anything online for fear my computer might crash / needed to desperately work on assignments and there's too much to catch up on. The only thing that got me through was the occasional / super quick browse on some RM etailers.. and buying stuff...

ohh, baghag, whats this, a puppy?!?!

oh no, anna, just saw your post about your car!! I hate drivers that crash into you but accuse you of being at fault, you've got the evidence so you should be good. side note, congrats on completing your first year of college, woohoo!!

damn, I wish i could go to a tpf, RM specific meet too. I need a serious distraction from assignments and work, and no one that i know, gets my RM addiction

OMG, Anna I'm glad you are ok. And yeah, definitely get a police report. Someone hit me several years ago at an intersection. I had green and was going straight while he ran a red light from the right attempting a left hand turn and slammed right into me. It was like 2 am when it happened. I was in such shock that I let him give the statement (since he admitted being in the wrong and hitting me) but what I didn't realize until later is he said he was making a right on the red light. He lied so he wouldn't get fined for running a red light. So while his insurance picked up the tab he still lied (it still irks me whenever I think about it).

The main thing though is that you are ok. Tofu Bob will get fixed and be good as new!
