I think it was VERY nice & generous for Rebecca & Catalina to start production of a purse that is no longer in production. It is very expensive to start up production again once something is out of production. Frankly, I'm surprised that she only required 8 orders. Anyway, Rebecca & Catalina are both forum members and sporadically visit. Please reward their generosity by not speculating about whether there are ulterior motives.

I agree with RaeBelle and Haute okole, I'm extremely grateful with Rebecca and Catalina for doing this for us, all it matters now is that our bags are in line for production already

I completely agree. Even if there are "ulterior motives" the most important thing is we are getting wine matinees, and this was only done for us.

Catalina was great to me! I emailed her from work letting her know I was so THANKFUL, and how much I REALLY wanted this bag when this thread was originally started. I was out sick all last week from work, but when I came back on Monday, i found several emails from Catalina. The first one said she still needed two more orders, another said just one more order, and one said that although the 8 orders have been filled, she will do her best to secure one bag for me.

I thought that was really sweet of her, and sent her an email apologizing for not replying to her sooner (as i was out sick), and if it wasn't too late,then I still wanted to place the order, and sent her my billing/shipping info.

She immediately replied telling me that she will check with production to make sure I could still get the bag, and asked me for an alternate email incase I'm out of work again.

Within a few hrs, she emailed me a receipt, and CC'd both my emal addresses to make sure i knew i was getting the bag ASAP!

I emailed her again, and just thanked her for putting all this together for US (tpf members only) and told her she was a doll. And I was very glad to see her reply "MY PLEASURE! YOU ALL ARE WORTH IT! :)"

Catalina works crazy hrs in the day, and has always gotten back to my EVERY email in less than hrs. She's truly a doll, and with all the hype on the wine, i don't really think an ulterior motive was even needed


Don't feel bad, as this is nothing personal towards you.. I just wanted to share my great experience, and how grateful I am that RM did this for us. Many designers are NOT that cool!

I don't know how good a strap would look on the matinee, since there is nowhere on the side to hook it onto...

I just emailed Catalina to check if I can still order the wine matinee and she replied saying she's putting up a new group of 8 orders to set up the production!! My heart jumped!!

Good news for those who wanted one. She has 2 new orders now and she needed another 6 more! She also mentioned "either ma or matinee wine". Not sure whether she's refering to MAB or MAM...

^^ OMG that is so awesome Cocobal! I'm so happy for you! I was in the first pre-order and am anxiously awaiting my matinee! This was the bag and color I first fell in love with of Rebecca Minkoff's bags. This has been and will be my Holy Grail of RM's!!!

Let me tell you though, the Wine Matinee is worth every penny and you will LOVE it!

Does she do these types of things often? I can't put myself on the list at the moment (my CC can't take it right now), but I'd love to in the near future. Hopefully she'll do these group orders later, because I won't be happy until I get my hands on one! :P
