Oh, wow! The double-sided effect is a great idea! I can't believe how well you matched the teal.
This thread is hot! What's next?? |

^^ Thanks! I know! It took literally 5 minutes, the colors were just perfect. I went through a bazillion different colors before I ordered them so I definitely ended up picking the right ones!
I just tried the Dark Green Self Shine over the black nikki on a small test spot! OMG I love it! I'll do it tomorrow and take pics ASAP! It turns out a realllllly blackened green but it's so perfect for what I envisioned. And I think even if some black shows through it will look nice because of how well it meshes with it. YAY! |

WOW! I think your Nikki looks fantastic black!
I am a "black-bag girl" tho and can't get enough black bags. I just think the black looks amazing with the old brass HW and candy cane lining.....! Great job! |

Great job! I am considering doing this to one of the bags I dyed last year. I also used Tarrago dyes and the cracks in the dye after some use drove me nuts. Definitely going to use the penetrating dye this time around =)

Wow, can't wait for the reveal of your "new" green bag! (BTW, you'll have to come up with a name for your green.) You've done a fabulous job so far and I think the green will be amazing. I like the fact that it'll have the "resort" effect. This will definitely be on special and unique bag!
You are so clever to dye the leather straps. Boy, I sure could use straps for both my MACs and Rocker. You are so crafty! |

You are a brave woman--not for the dye, but for taking acetone to your bag! Looks fantastic so far, can't wait to see the finished result.

Thanks guysss!
I have classes today so I'll finish it when I'm done and post the results. I looked at the test spot this morning and it's so dark. I love it.The strap for my MAC was soooo simple! You all should try it if you want one! ![]() And I read somewhere that LMB or someplace actually uses acetone when they have to remove dye. I can't remember if it was them or another place but it was a reputable leather care service so I knew it would be okay. Crazy!

YAY HGG! Do it! I'm so happy to be a MAC convert again. I loved the traditional MAC in Teal I had but had no solution yet for the chain strap and the front pocket and hardware irked me sometimes, so these 3 zips with long leather straps are perfect! I want them all!

wow the black bag looks good!
So is the new brand you're using Fiebing's (sp) dye only? Do those come with a leather preparer or do you even need those with penetrating dye? |
