Just ordered my dusty silverspot from Bloomingdales 2 days ago for $303. THey have an extra 40% discount going on. Try calling their stores/customer service and see if they have any.

My new Steady is due to arrive sometime today, but after reading about all these problems with the handles, I am unsure about keeping it. Part of me is thinking about just sending it right back.

I don't want to have spent $$$ on a bag, to have to end up paying to send it back to be fixed. Not to mention, the issue of being without the bag for at least a month...

These quality issues that seem to keep popping up are making me reconsider spending any more money on more RM bags.

I agree, it's definitely disappointing - especially since the handle issues were supposed to be resolved. I will say that my iris nikki is the sh*t though and 100% worth the money. I'm not sure that I will be putting out the bucks to get any more bags with handles like the MAB and the steady any time soon though.

I just got my Tangerine/Stone Steady from UPS.

I'm going to send it back, as I am totally disappointed in what the "Stone" color looked like in person. It is MUCH more tan/beige than the stock photos show online. Which is just not my style at all.

That's a bummer GGS. It does look like a pale sand color in the pics, not dark at all.

Here are pictures of my new Hazelnut Steady, my first RM!

No flash

No flash (darker IRL)

With flash (less orange IRL)

My 15" MacBook Pro fits inside, yay!

Quick action shot - please excuse my clothes, I work a dirty job but was too excited to bother changing. I am 5'7" for reference.

Thanks for looking!

I felt the exact same way when I received mine! I thought it would be a nice off-white color, but it's much more tan in person than you would think. Mine went back too

I managed to get my 17in HP in mine though there was not a ton of wiggle room.

Thanks, scoobiesmomma and tatertot! I am so excited about it.

anatidaephobia: my Macbook fits, but there is not much wiggle room, just as tatertot says. Also, the top doesn't close with the computer in there, so it's no ideal for carrying it around, but it will work in a pinch.

Thanks for the clarification. That's a shame that it won't close. I'm still on the search for the perfect laptop bag, then. (Right now I slip it into a neoprene sleeve and carry it in a CK tote, but I want something more secure than that.)

I guess I am going to send in my steady to LB tomorrow... I'm so sad to let her go but I will be too afraid to carry the bag unless it gets fixed :(

The salesman I talked to on the phone was really nice and def knew his bags... but it doesn't make me feel better about the inconvenience of losing my bag for so long. I bought it knowing the price would go down because I wanted it so badly- and now I'm losing it for longer than I would have had to wait! argh!

But to anyone thinking about returning/not ordering a steady... even with the problems, I still want mine back! Its a gorgeous bag and I definitely would buy another as long as I looked it over carefully.
