I personally don't view posting on this board as "telling Rebecca" things - I come here to discuss my favorite bags and where and how to buy them with fellow fans of the brand. And of course it is also very fun when she posts here too! :) Her personal touch & commitment to her customers is one of my favorite things about her brand.

However, I personally don't think we should have to refrain from saying constructive/critical stuff about her bags/branding just because she might read it. I even think sometimes reading honest thoughts & issues from her loyal customers might even help her. If I were a designer, I would want to know what my customers were thinking, both the good and the constructive, so I could take it all into account when making my decisions. I think it is nice that she is interested in what we think.

I think that Rebecca is a good businesswoman and I don't see her being offended, because I don't think anything we have said here is anything she hasn't considered. I am sure she knows that we all have certain financial realities to consider and that some of us might have to buy less or wait for sales if the bags cost more. And she obviously knows we love her bags.

Why should we refrain from saying things just because the designer happens to be on board? Its a marketing ploy anyway (and a good one at that).
I can understand why RM is cracking down on codes. Its her business, her choice. But at the same time, if the cracking down on codes is an attempt to boost status up to Louis Vuitton or Balenciaga...well... that surely isn't going to work. Not to mention the huge price increases that have happened in the past year or so(?)
With all that said, I am still wanting to buy a MAM, but only at a discount.

Well whether the designer reads it or not. I am off the RM bags and onto something else. TREESJE are cool. Just can't see paying 700$ (notice all the new bags have higher prices) and not getting to use a code. It will just hurt in the long run. Not that I don't love RM bags. I will just look on eBay. But I really don't want multiple's of the same bag. I like to vary the styles

I completely agree. I think this should be a future target for RM. Like a long term business plan. Her target audience should be the "average" customer for atleast the first ten years. Thats how Bal, Lv, and Chanel all started. It took them decades to get established. RM is not even established yet. Not many boutiques carry a nice selection, she is just getting to the upscale dept stores, and most important, not everyone in just about every country knows about her brand, and she has already started to target the high end clientele? I personally love her bags, but I think she is moving a little too fast and is completely overlooking her average customers, which all of us are a part of.

Oh and another side note- The handles and their inside material, AND their outside finish definitely need to be improved before the prices are raised, and the move to become high end is taken in effect. The inside material of my Night/Gold crackle MAB is already deteriorating, and its only been two weeks since i've had it. The outside finish looks very cheap and incomplete. I love my RM bags, and the quality of the leather, and hardware, but every time someone stares down my bag, i try to hide the finish on the handles.

Yea this whole crackdown is really unprofessional IMO. There are many of us that don't like posting info on the forum now because we feel like everything we say is being used against us, ESPECIALLY the codes.

Amanda- i agree with hitchcock on this. Rebecca knows we adore her as a designer, and there are ups and downs in every business, and i'm sure she appreciates are feedback. If she doesn't get constructive feedback, she's not going to know what her customers want, and she's not going to know what to improve. This forum is a place to discuss our opinions, I don't think anyone is here to offend any designer or board member.
