I have a MAB and I really like it, but I think I should have gotten a Nikki instead. The MAB is to formal for me.

ooo, that's a tough one. i still don't think that i have found the right nikki leather for me -- so far i have bought and returned two of them (persimmon, and then double cream). on the other hand i have only returned one MAM (hazelnut -- a gorgeous color but also a bit too stiff for my taste). now i am waiting to see if i can get a wine nikki with old HW...and then break it in like nobody's businesss!

i am absolutely in love with the smooshy leathered MAMs, though, and the MAB Luxe. i have one MAB (mocha, like anilu) but haven't used it yet, am waiting for colder weather to use the lovely color. IMO, the MAB Luxe (esp. if you get it in a brighter color and smooshy leather) is a fantastic midway point, in that you get the convenience of the nikki shoulder straps but the more structured feel of the MAs...

but maybe i'll change my mind once i get a nikki that i actually keep!

(sorry for the circular answer to such a good question!)

Lol, that's like asking, "Do you like apples or oranges?" They're both fruit; it's just a matter of personal preferences.

IMO, I love the MAM. I've always been partial to rectangular and square-shaped satchels, and never really been a fan of the hobo shape. I like my handbags to have structure and to be able to stand upright when I place them down on the table.

i have both. i love both, but they are very different. the MAB is more of a crook of the arm bag for me. it does fit under my shoulder, but not as comfortably as the nikki. i really couldn't pick between them! i love them too much lol

I agree with the other posters. they're both totally different bags... I love them both! I tend to wear nikki's more because they fit better over the shoulder, but i would say that the Nikki is the classic hobo, and the MA is the classic satchel- so you must have one of both!

I totally agree with y'all! There are things to love about both bags. I'm usually a hobo girl but love my MAM and MAB. love the outside pockets and the storage space. If you fill your Nikki to the brim it looks way too long, in a out of whack kind of way. If you fill your MAM or MAB it looks just fine! I like the inside pockets in the Nikki and the way it looks on the body but the MAB-MAM DOES look nice sitting on the table!

I prefer the MAB because I can dress it up or down, and I can find things in it in a jiffy.

I'd have to agree with circoit, I am definitely a MA girl at ! I have tried the Nikki twice now, and just can't get into it. Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous bag, but I think it is for lack of a better description, a "bottomless pit". The MA is a great everyday bag imo and has the ability to be a well organized machine...

I agree - apples and oranges - two totally different styles, both of which I love too much to have to choose one.

A well-organized machine! I LOVE it!!!

I'd choose the Nikki over the MAM, but I agree that you can't compare the MAB to the Nikki. I sold off a MAB because it wasn't the color for me, but I LOVED the bag itself and am (ahem) currently on a low-key search for a good deal on another one. The Nikki is just as fabulous as most people make it out to be ... it's a different hobo experience, I tell ya!

Get the Nikki first, MAB later! Or vice versa. Either way, you should be a pretty happy camper.

I say it's a must to have both if these were the only 2 bags you owned. They fit different needs but between the 2 you have a perfect exchange of Casual or Classy.
But if you can only have one, and you already may have been less impressed with the Nikki you bought, then The MAB (For me it would be a MAM) would be the first bag of choice.
