New Nikki hardware- square vs. triangle?

Question for you all.. I noticed on the new NL nikki that the piece of hardware that connects the handle to the rest of the body is now a triangle type shape whereas before they were square. Well actually in the very begining they were a half circle but I'm really just comparing the "new" hardware bags at the moment.

Anyway.. have any of you noticed this? Do you like it better or worse or does it not matter at all? I'm finding that I don't care for it much but I also haven't had a lot of time to get used to it. It's such a small detail but for some reason it really stood out to me and it doesn't flow like the older shapes in that area.

Please feel free to tell me I'm nuts and have way too much time on my hands.

Yes, I noticed it. I think all the bags since pre-fall have had it. At first, I wasn't crazy about the shape, though it functioned just fine. But, it doesn't really bother me so much anymore!

Can you post a pic LR? I haven't seen it yet!! I think the triangle would better hold the hardware up so it wouldn't CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK as much!

i just looked in the "Nikki Pics Sticky"-- i never noticed that detail! it has changed from half circle to square and now triangular.

ead-angel- thanks for your response. I saw a seagreen nikki with the older square hardware in the Nikki pics only thread.. was seagreen prefall? I can't remember anymore. Maybe it was right before their switch over.

DESI- I can't post pics yet b/c I don't even have the bag yet.. (I paid a visit to one in a local boutique so that is how I first noticed it) but I will post pictures when I get it. You can kind of see some square vs. triangle pics on other threads like the "nikki pics only thread".. also the poster who just posted her NL nikki pictures has a pic where you can kind of see it.

^^You're right, just from browsing the LB pics, the hardware on my Double Cream is different from the Seagreen and Persimmon, they do have the square style.

My fav is the circle but I like the triangle more than the square. Good observation!

don't think i'm an idiot!

but are you talking about at the top where the strap is, or the hardware on the bottom that the clasp is attached too?

desi, I think it's the square/trapezoid hardware that connects the strap to the bag.

exactly.. raebelle is correct. The lone piece of hw that connects the strap to the rest of the bag. It really is such a small detail but for some reason I just need to get used to the triangle.. it stands out to me now.

Littlerock, I'm so glad you started this thread. I was thinking the same EXACT thing the other day for my Noir Nikki. It has the triangle and I noticed it, immediately.

I have to say, I don't like it whatsoever. I much prefer the circles as my first choice and then the squares (like on my wine Nikki).

But, I"m hoping that because I LOVE the bag itself so much, in time, I won't even notice.

LOL, I'm laughing because I actually thought of starting this thread today and thought everyone might think I'm over analyzing my Nikki with too much time, on my hands! That's funny!

Great observation LR. I dont know which one I like better. Maybe that is one way to distinguish the colors and the season.
