GRRRRRR!!! I'm going to be on my way to the Airport during the Gilt Sale!!! I missed the NY SS by one week, the LA SS gets cancelled and moved to a month I can't go...

....*sigh* I guess I am just not meant to get any more RM bags

Thanks for posting! I wouldn't have expected there could be irregularities; good to know. I'm hoping for a chance to buy a bag... just like the other post, i too don't have any stores here that sell RM.

I just want ONE bag, why is it so hard? ugh.
I generally shy away from bags that EVERYBODY seems to want. Only thing that's keeping me interested in this one is that it's the perfect shade of purple.
If I do ever get my hands on one it'll be my first and last RM.

I am reading the "horror" stories about the Gilt site. Very deceiving! I am upset to say the least. I ordered 2 RM bags and a DVF dress with much success though - no complaints from me. How could they get away with this - different hardware and dress stains. I am reconsidering checking out the sale tomorrow since I don't agree with their practices.

Also, when you guys say non returnable, do you mean that the 14 day store credit policy does not apply to RM bags? Sorry, I am just confused.

I could have sworn I read on another thread that they hold it for 5 minutes - I AM NOT SURE THOUGH! Sorry I could not be more of a help.

yeah a tpf'er tried it a week or so ago and she said that they hold it in ur cart for 5 minutes! keep the fingers ready :)

they definitely hold for 5 minutes- i have bought stuff from them before. you can also get on a 'waitlist' for an item so if another GG member dumps it from their cart they will email you so you can put it in yours. it is actually pretty neat!

I was looking forward to this sale until I read about the posts on defective/flawed products from Gilt.

I want to go to the Theory sample sale (prices below wholesale!) tomorrow but I don't want to rush back for this one if the products are defective and non-refundable. $200 on a defective product is $200 I could have put towards a "perfect" bag at a sale where I can look at/touch it or return it if I have a problem with the bag. It seems, from the "fine print", that handbags cannot be exchanged for store credit!!

What shall I do??

Well girls keep in mind that a lot of SS depending on the brand (this applies more to clothing) is for defective, irregular, returns, and overstock which is why it's so cheap (compared to retail). I forget which SS site had decadestwo items for sale which is actually second hand high end clothing. It's called a Sample Sale not just a regular Sale... for a reason. I know at the R&R sample sales there tend to be a bunch of irregulars as well as samples.
