Louis Vuitton or a Balenciaga? I'm just curious. I love all my Minkoff's but the thought has crossed my mind on occasion as I walk into Neiman Marcus lol

Hope I don't get flamed for this post. I state again I'm the proud owner of 2 Mac's, 1 5 zip, 1 swing, and 1 studded affair.

Yes and for that reason, I sold a couple Rms I bought an LV. But, the LV is now out for me and I'm back to carrying my RM or MJ. I just didn't love the LV as much. I will say that I love my Marc Jacobs Single and wouldn't trade that for anything, but most of my loves are back to being RM.

I have a LV Damier Neverfull mm and an LV monogram Eva clutch. While I love them, I still feel like I forked out waaaaay to much money on handbags that are mainly canvas.

yeah yeah yeah
some of the highest priced RMs are like $650 paying retail, not much u can get in lv or bal land for that- unless used. maybe a speedy 30 or a very used city/first bag

thats why i usually buy RMs on ebay/bonz (slightly used or new sometimes) and if its my holy grail bag, ill shell out more. most ive paid for a holy grail bag is $500 i think

oh but hah, have to add- ive sold off a lot of RMs to buy some bal bags. yeah 3-4 rm bags could equal a very nice high end bag, and they keep value longer

True but I've lost a lot of money buying and selling Bal =( It depriciates in value unfortuately a lot more than LV or Chanel!

It's why I sold my Mini Mac and my Brynn. I really couldn't stand the mini. I thought the leather was poor and stiff and I could never get anything in/out of it. I loved the Brynn at first sight but the leather was the same. Even when it first came out of the box it looked scuffed and worn to me.

I've thought about getting a regular size Mac but I know I'd probably end up regretting it. I still have my RM shoes, my sunglasses pouch and my 'benjamins' wallet. I think I'll probably stick with small accessories and save the big spending on bags for other designers.

I never say that to myself about my rms. I buy them cause I love them and I'm in the rm section of this forum obsessing about them cause they r the bags on my mind.....and apparently lots of other minds...lol. Many of us buy higher end bags too....it's all about what strikes ur fancy! It is a plus that rms don't break the bank as badly....but we would all save and buy differently if that's what we wanted to do....rather than be in here talking about rms.

just passing through
I share the same exact view Snugbugnyc. Never regretted money spent for my RMs and wished I bought, say, a Balenciaga instead. If I want a Balenciaga, I'd put up a Bal fund separate from my RM fund :)

No, I don't think I've ever thought that way but I can see why some people would. RM has a different style than say, LV or Balenciaga. If I really wanted something else, I'd buy something else.

MAC Madness!
I've had (and still have) LVs and Chloes. I use my RMs much, much more than any LV or Chloe I own. I find them to be both attractive looking and extremely practical/easy and comfortable to carry.

just curious OP, why are a lot of your questions/threads on here questioning your confidence with your RM purchases?

i've seen other questions from you that imply you'd rather spend money on a higher end bag or ask us if we collect higher end bags too. just seems like you have doubts about your RM purchases or liking the brand

this is an RM forum after all, we are all gaga/cuckoo for a lot of RM bags and love most (if not all) of our RM purchases, otherwise we wouldn't buy them

i'm just curious, and not 'flaming' you -- in an RM forum of all places, why do some of your questions cast such a negative light on RM?

Had a couple LV's sold them all. Bought 1 Chloe from a well know online consignment site which turned out to be fake so the refunded my money

It was a damn good fake too I would have never known unless I had attempted to re-sell it myself!

I love my RM's equally as my Balenciagas, however I do sometimes have the occasional pang for another Chanel which I can't get unless I STOP buying ALL other brands because it's so expensive.

We should all just buy what we love, regardless of designer name. I fell for the LV name and I do really like some of the LV bags, but I love my RMs more & kept switching from my LV back to my RMs. So, yes for the same cost of 2 RMs, I could have an LV. But I would rather have the RMs. Which is why I got rid of my LV.

If all RMs, MJ, LVs, Bals, etc were the same designer, which bag would you love? Not a flame, just wondering if you are getting trapped in the name of the bags or if you genuienly like Bals, LV or whatever better? Do you buy RMs because they are less expensive? If that is the only reason, I would save for what you really like.
