any suggestion on treating leather that is easily scratched (like elephant). I conditioned my blue/gray matinee and it looks better, but how can I prevent future scratches? will the spray do it?

TIA

I just used some Wilson's TLC Leather Lotion (cleaner and condtioner) on my Night Blue MAB this morning. I tested out a spot on the bottom first, and found that it can leave a slightly dark spot/smudge if you apply it a little too heavily. I would apply some of the conditioner on the cloth, dab it against itself so you're not applying it straight to the bag. Then use the conditioner dampened cloth to lightly wipe over a larger area. Then use a dry part of the cloth to buff the bag all over.

The color of of this bag is dark, and the wrinkled/soft sheen texture of the leather makes lots of shadows on the bag, so the slightly darker areas don't show too obviously (whew!). The leather feels a lot softer, and the color looks richer. The Night Blue seems to have a tendency to look a little crackle-y, and the conditioning helps a little - but the textured finish is just how it is usually I guess? It's now super slouchy and smooshy :)

I also tested the Wilsons TLC Protector on the bottom, and one spray coat seemed to do well. I'll probably try conditioning a little more and spray it again tonight.

Thanks for all the great recs here, everyone!

I bought the apple care leather kit and the suede cleaner as well. I didn't get a chance to treat the bag and I had to travel for work to Chicago and it was raining one day.. and now i have rain drop spots on my elephant mattie..

What should I use to clean those up??

I hope no one is actually using baby wipes. It has been posted it actually degrades the leather over time.

Lovinmybags Balenciaga bag cleaner. It is AMAZING!! I had an unfortunate Redbull spill on one of my Balenciaga bags and it took the whole thing out. I was amazed to say the least. You can use code pf for 10% off and I swear this stuff is a miracle in a jar. It's made for more sensitive leathers and just takes dirt, grime, and spills right off.

I'd recommend the LMB cleaner, too. It's a little gentler on leathers and doesn't take color off as much as the Apple cleaner does. I mean, it's not like it will lighten the leather or anything, but less color coming off on the cloth is probably better, right?

I am kind of late on this thread because I have a lot of COACH bags, and not RM bags... but since I've decide to convert over to RM bags , I was wondering when I get my MAB bag, is Coach's mosturizer for leather bags going to be ok to use? or do I have to get totally different leather care for the RM leather bags? thanks in advance for any type of advice!
