Some RM leathers, when you condition/treat them, you would see color transfers on the cleaning clothes. My experience with teal was ok, it didn't show much color transfer, but Noir, Cranberry, and concord all showed color transfer of some sorts when I condition them.

Honestly speaking, I now try to avoid treating any of my leather bags, I would rather be careful when I carry them than running the chance of ruining them. My concord nikki turned so dull after I sprayed water repellent on it. And after I applied LMB's daily shine enhancer on it, the color turned darker and now it looks more blue than purple. It almost looks to me like a navy bag now.

I have many handbags, and I don't have patience to test each of them, so I've just decided not to treat them anymore, except maybe the handles.

tejava, thanks for the info - sorry that you found out the hard way, with your concord nikki! I don't think I'll treat any bags either. I'll have to carry a plastic bag inside my RMs all the time in case it rains, just like the Hermes owners do!

My Iris and Noir also transfer colours on the cleaning cloth. It is really not good thing. But I'm also carying a plastic bag inside my bag hehehe. I used my Envirosax shopper once in the light rain, and it worked well. Maybe it will work in the hard rain too. Or I just buy me a wide plastic rain coat,I need it to protect my aniline leather jacket. Such coat can be rolled very small, and doesn't take as much place as a rain jacket does. And it place for a big bag under it too
Something like this

Or like this one for smaller bags hehe

Yes , West coast of Norway is a really rainy place. We need all sorts of protection here

I've used the same cream on many different blue and green Prada & Ferragamo bags and it's really good. But on Peacock, all this dark green dye comes off onto the cleaning cloth! This has never happened on anything else, usually no color comes off at all.

I have to spray waterproofer on this bag - it already has rain spots on it - but am really dreading it.

To those of you who have Teal bags, do you think that Teal is also unstable like this?
I was just going to post something about how delicate Peacock leather seems to be! I've taken several other different colored RM bags out in the rain & gotten drops of DD's juice on them, etc, and have none of them show any evidence of that, but my peacock nikki looks like a dalmatian on one side now after getting caught in a very light sprinkle one morning while I was transporting her between house & car, which is NOT that far of a walk, like maybe 20 feet? There are also a couple spots that showed up after DD dripped some apple juice right on the inside lip (where it's still leather, before the cotton lining starts) putting her sippy cup in my bag (which doubles as a baby bag, like all my bags do nowadays). I have appleguard conditioner that I was planning on using on this bag, as well as the waterproof spray - but wanted to ask here first if either of these products are ok to use on uber-sensitive peacock leather. Anyone else have experience cleaning off water spots from their peacock bags?

HOw do you store your MAMs and NIKKIs when not in use? Do you stuff them with paper or something else? Or maybe you do let them puddle in the closet?

MAM/MAB: Stuffed with paper all the way out to each corner to hold its shape, fold the handles down on each side, then put in the dustbag seated upright on the feet.

Nikki: Stuffed with paper to the top of the "fold", tuck strap in under the fold, then put in dustbag and seated upright.

I don't know about Apple in UK, but I can recommend LovingMyBags directly from their shop. I really regret that I tried two other leather care lines, money out of window. LMB is a good stuff

Second that...LMB is good stuff, but I did have some color transfer while treating chocolate Nikki with the Pro-Cleaner Plus. However, the color did not change and it did protect it from insect repellant which got on the bag (faded within 15 minutes). Boy was I happy.....thought I'd have to live with the oily stain forever.

Does anyone here have a blue wave w/orange trim MAM? Do you treat it? The leather seems very delicate and prone to scratches, etc ... how has yours turned out?

Also, is this bag made of lambskin? Thanks!

I have the apple cleaner. I still, though, have a difficult time w/ the handles of my almond colored bag. Any advice?

make sure you do a test spot first! GL :)

OK - I just read thought most of this thread and this seems like the best plan of attack for my blue wave mini nikki. Off to order...
